Dundalk are going to do very well this season. Some great signings and they got rid of the spoofer. Theyll be top 3 with Sligo a bit back in 4th i reckon. Pats can only improve on last year so i think theyll be around 4th or 5th.

That's a decent squad there Cork have gathered up.

Looks like another challenger for the title.
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html

According to the Irish Examiner, Lordan has signed and will be captain.

Leeside stalwart Lordan to skipper Cork for league opener in Derry
    By John Riordan
    Thursday, March 04, 2010

CILLIAN LORDAN will have the honour of being be the first captain of the newly-formed Cork City Foras, it was confirmed last night.

The long-serving midfielder who has also lined out in defence during his 10-year stint on Leeside was the seventh player to put pen to paper on another busy day for the League of Ireland First Division outfit.

Italian defender Samuele Emiliano, returning Bosnian Admir Softic and talented forward Davin O’Neill all boosted Tommy Dunne’s squad yesterday, the playing staff now, officially, standing at 13 with less than 36 hours to go to the big kick-off in the Brandywell tomorrow night.

Dublin-born Declan Edwards, who is waiting on international clearance having been at Stockport County, was the 13th player to commit to the club last night after midfielder Eoin Forde, defender John Dineen and winger Willie Heffernan all signed for the Leesiders during the day. Emiliano and Softic are also awaiting the formality of getting international clearance.

Emiliano, a full back, previously played in Serie C and D in his native Italy and said he was pleased to have signed: "I’m very happy to have signed for the club. I have enjoyed the training in my first few weeks in Ireland and I am looking forward to the start of the season."

Softic spent a number of seasons with Cork City in its previous guise before leaving Cork in 2008 to sign for FK Zeljeznicar in his native Bosnia. The 23-year-old also had a brief spell in Denmark before returning to Leeside.

Speaking after signing, Softic said: "I’m happy to have signed. I enjoyed playing in Cork previously, and while I enjoyed my spell abroad, I’m very pleased to be back in Cork. The manager is assembling a good squad and I can’t wait for the season to start."

O’Neill was a regular with Cork City last season after several years with Cobh Ramblers, and he said he is delighted to have signed: "I’m delighted to be part of the new set-up and look forward to being part of a successful future for the club. I worked with Tommy Dunne last season and I am looking forward to working with him again this season."

Dunne expressed his delight at securing O’Neill’s signature: "Davin is a quality player who has scored goals at First Division level in the past, and more recently in the Premier Division. I am delighted to have him on board and believe he will be an important player for us this season."

Looked pretty decent too. He played as a centre half a few times for Cork City before joining UCD though.

That gave me a good laugh! Really nice jersey too. Has McEvoy signed for us or is he staying with Bohs for the season?

That's a shocking strikeforce Matthews has put together, ONE goal between the 3 of them in the league last season!

Definitely signed on loan by all accounts including an interview with Fenlon. Not sure why we've not announced our signings properly lately. We'll know Saturday anyway.

Hard to disagree with ya there! Tho we do have Duffy to play up front as well. Plus the young lad McNamara coming through, who looks the real deal

I'd love to invent a time machine then go back in time and win the lottery, buy new players and a stadium. Time machines are brilliant aren't they- Ian Holloway

heard George is on his way to Linfield. Was apparently offered 350 euro to play for us, which would be a huge portion of our budget tied up in one player. So i'm not too disappointed hes gone. Too much risk at that price. Getting double that in Belfast supposedly
