Id say Murphy will be first choice, Fenlon said in an interview that he sees O'Connor as raw talent. I really think its all to play for in terms of starting. Think Keegan, Shelley, Powell and Byrne are guaranteed starts, beyond that its down to form. Quigley has been playing right/left wing in preseason.

As Dodge said in another thread i think Melligan will be a great signing. I remember seeing his name down for a lot of goals for decent clubs over the years, impressively so for a midfielder. That said, i havent seen a lot of him. I thought Shams signing Bradley was a great steal last year but i think Dundalk signing Melligan could turn out even better.

New squad is up. Unfortunately no Baba Isaaka, played a pre-season friendly for us.

Edit: Liam Burns was announced as team captain for the seaosn with Neale Fenn as vice captain.
Ah Synnott is way too good to be playing A League football, would be horrible to see that.

Agreed - Michael Synnott will be in the first team squad if Ian Foster can stretch his budget to include him.

When you quoted Dillonman's previous post it unintentionally appears as though the remark about signing for the A team is from the official club website - it is not, it's probably just DM's take on it.

Greg O'Halloran signed for Cork City as Player/Assistant Manager
Mark McNulty would appear to have signed as our keeper

Nice start, two players who should be well capable for the First Division and will help what will be a mostly very young and inexperienced squad

Thought Greg had already agreed to be player/assistant manager?
I’m not pedantic...I’m merely overly concerned with minute details.

Jeez didn't realise Dundalk had signed JJ Melligan. Played once for Pats in a friendly around 2003 after falling out with Wolves but ended up going back over to them. Smashing player
