Opening fixture has familiar feel
Friday’s 2004 Premier Division season opener between St Patrick’s Athletic and Derry City is a fixture with a very familiar look to it.
When Pats and the Candystripes lock horns at Richmond Park on Friday March 19th (7.45), it will be the third time in seven seasons that the two teams have met on the opening day.

Derry City boss Gavin Dykes wishes he had a squad as the Candystripes travel to Dublin on Friday for their opening tie of the eircom League Premier Division.
"I wish we had a squad" he joked, "having six suspended doesn't help when you are going to Richmond Park seeking a result."
"It will be a tough game to start our campaign as Inchicore is never an easy place to play in."
