I know where you are comin from acornvilla but compared to last year we have played a lot more games in preseason.. The games we played in preseason were: Tullamore,Rathcoole Town,Shamrock Rovers,UCD and Cork City. Add the Sporting Fingal game and that makes six.. Last year we played Bohs,Westport Utd,Derry City ans Sligo Rovers . so that makes it an increase of two from last yrs preseason..

I am sure the training is quite intensive anyway..

They'd learn as much or more playing against each other than playing a local side

ah i dnno well i agree that its great theyv played 6 games this pre season but still i think they may be a bit lacking in match sharpness with the longish lay off game time wise they will have? no?

A lot of Leinster cup games this weekend, hard to get good opposition. No harm to have a whole weekend to work with the more or less finalised squad if need be IMO.*
