After seeing a few first rd games here are my predictions -

aisling annacotty v salthill - Salthill
    peamount v cork - Peamount
    .. - fyfc
    templeogue v kilmacrennan - kilmacrennan
st francis v mayo - St Francis
limerick league v dundalk - Limerick
st catherine v monaghan - St Catherines
    terenure v wexford - wexford

With no disrespect to fyfc, it is a joke that a team can be in the quarter finals without having played a match.

I agree, although it's to the benefit of the team they play in Qtr Final and they will be hammered in the next round...I can't see any benefit to FYFC as a team/club.

FYFC and the Competition have been let down by Drimnagh who are only 20mins away from eachother... Its shocking.. no excuse for it...
You enter to play, at the end of it all, only one team wins it...

To quote "the one"..... "though it's to the benefit of the team they play in Qtr Final and they will be hammered in the next round...I can't see any benefit to FYFC as a team/club"..

If that's your defeatist attitude then why should any teams enter the competition at all?? More Clubs should be encouraged to enter the Cup... I'd be embarrassed to be at a Club who decide to give a walkover because they think they'd be hammered.
From what I can gather, Drimnagh in Major, FYFC in Inter 6.... so whats drimnagh's game?
We played Raheny in the Cup during the Winter, we lost 9-0, big deal... What were we supposed to do? Ring them up and say Ah yeah we wont play because we know we wont win.. We went out, made it difficult for 25/30mins and then there international class showed which was always going to happen... we didn't get it blown up early, played the 90mins... So after it we come off the pitch, everyone delighted with the 30mins of matching them in terms of our work-rate and effort... they a class side, we knew that... if we didnt play them, who are they supposed to play???
What was our biggest benefit from losing 9-0?? Not losing a single game after it!!
The one? Should we be giving Wexford a walkover?
A bit of Credit and due respect should be given...
Maybe its all about the prestige of the FAI Cup for us both.

Fair play jt, that is the attitude needed in the womens game. Teams who want to progress need to play the Rahenys of the game so they can measure what they need to do to improve so well done. Our women are playing you on Sunday and of course I hope we win but we wont be taking anything for granted and they are looking forward to a competitive game. Whether you win or lose, by the sound of your attitude I think we will be seeing a lot of Terenure in the future

Really great perspective guys....so refreshing in the womens game. I never see the logic in not playing the best teams, how would you get any better otherwise???

Keep up the positivity and the logical thinking, it will def be beneficial in the future. I wish ye both the best of luck 2morow!

Well played Wexford, absolutely should have been more goals in your favour... at least 3 shots off the Bar/post...
We did well to keep it at 0-0 for the first 40mins or so....
Never really troubled ye... not once in the 2nd half anyway...
Disappointing on our behalf not to create more... but was always going to be tough...
Some very good players on Wexford, quite impressed by ye... excellent organisation at the set pieces...
Good luck in the next round!

Were you at the Peamount Cork game? It was one all in the 85th Minute. Cork defended a lot but that's how they played against Wilton too, they have good defenders and a good keeper. I think saying it was easy is a bit off the mark

    Cool

I am going to say Mayo v Peamount in the final as long as of course they avoid each other.

Salthill are a great footballing team but if they come up against a physical team I would worry about them. They are a dainty side and being physical is probably the only thing they lack from their locker so they have the potential to be outmuscled by a more senior team.

But remember folks......THREE out of FIVE for subs

Hi LmkSnr Catherines are a physical team and will be from the start...so Salthill will have their work cut out for them. Catherines don't really have anything on the bench...do Salthill have a good bench? Very close to call...but I'm going to go with Catherines.

Dundalk playing at home on the artificial pitch, have both GK's injured at the moment, though Aisling Dyer will probably play regardless. If Dyer plays....very tight game...if not defo Mayo. I'm going with Mayo.

Peamount are already through as the got a walkover......this really has to be sorted...a bye in the qtr finals of the most imortant competition in the country!

Kilmac for me in the final tie.

    for semi's
    peamount because of walk-over
    salthill way to much pace
kilmacrennan small narrow pitch but also have some good players
mayo because they want it and they are awesome to watch maybe because both managers support arsenal.

Salthill Devon 4 - 0 St Catherines - Great win for Salthill. Do you have a match report Curler? Did J Critchley and Noelle Murray play?

Mayo 4 . 0 dundalk - Match report anyone....were Aisling Dyer, Fiona McHale, Emma Mullin etc playing?

Kilmacrennan 1 . 1 won 6.5 on pens. the onlt tight game of this round.......Semis are in Neutral venues so Kilmac won't have their pitch to help them out.....match report anyone?

    From these results.....The West Awakes!
