Seemed to have another solid game yesterday for a rejuvenated Leicester City side. Going by some of the Leicester forum posts, he appeared to be a bit shaky at times against a tricky winger though. Great to see him play regular football at such a young age. Would love to see him start left back against Norway.

His average rating was around the 7 mark:

Thought he did ok - one or two loose passes but have seen worse.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

For a relatively raw 19 year old, Cunningham was very good at this level. I think Trap had good reason not to use him in the big games, let his football mature a bit in the club games.

One very risky pass back that was almost intercepted near the end but certainly looked lively, particularly going forward. Deliveries were generally of good quality. Trap obviously saw someone in the lad from day one (he might just be right!!)

Certainly was refreshing to see a LB offer something on the ball in a green shirt, it's been a while. Still think he needs a bit more time working on defence he's got plenty of time.

What is good to see is that he appears to be decisive. looked for the ball, decisive with it. No dallying. If there was a gap, he attacked it; if the overlap was on, he made it. |Twice I made out he offered himself as the out-ball for when Duff had exhausted his own options and delivered two beautiful balls into the box.
Defensive errors can be worked on and weeded out, a certain amount of attacking can compensate too, if we have full backs that can offer something going forward, it requires the oppostion with something to think about.

Very positive performance, and if he does as well against Wales, I'd be handing him a start against the Macedonians.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

have to say i was not convinced by Cunningham being a viable option at LB for Traps tenure. I honestly thought he was only including him because he wanted to be visibly seen to value Mancini's opinion (i truly believe Trappatoni is overly concerned with his own image as a manager). After his performance yesterday i can foresee a good future for Cunningham (my namesake!). Did very well overall for such a young and inexperienced player. One of the few positives of (another) abysmal performance.

I doubt he does, his spite of Trap is getting to him, but he might have a point going on "previous". Another word that seems to be coming more popular....

Lets be honest here, I'd never heard of Cunningham until he was picked by Trap, who was obviously tipped by Mancini. Stephen Ward would have been the obvious choice to cover for Killer.

On a side note, I heard there is another Cork kid at City who is highly rated. Anybody know about him.

Cunningham had played at U17 and U19 level too, it's equally as obvious that he spoke with the managers of those sides before calling up Cunningham

I think Trap does respect Mancini and respect him enough to value his opinions, though not blindly follow.
Trap did appear to repeat Mancini's line on Shay staying and fighting for his place there. Trap has acknowledged he communicated regularly with Mancini about Cuningham. I think that is Trap doing his job, following the progress of a talented player who was out of the limelight under a manager who he knows well, before calling him up into the squad against Algeria.

I'm surprised Trap ever became aware of Cunningham since he's never watched a match or scouted anybody in his life.

Shame on anyone here of sufficient tenure who had never heard of Cunningham. It's as good as saying they've never read Tets' Irish Abroad contributions

    cunningham can play

was never a fullback underage, he was some striker when very young. This lad can play football, his uncles (one played for shels i think in the seventies), grandfather (played for kilmarnock for 5 years in the sixties)and granduncles were all marvellous footballers according to older people in his home town.
