I dont like when clubs move away from their traditional jerseys, Sligo for eg, I will always think of them in Red/White stripes, not all red top. Finn Harps too I think started off with Blue/White stripes changing over to all Blue tops. Other changes and more biazzare were when Limerick Utd changed from Blue tops/white shorts to Yellow tops/Green shorts, name change to Limerick City in the mid 80`s. Looked like Norwich City joined the LOI for a year or two. They had a good side those days, some top 4 finishes too - Lim City that was!
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
I'm disappointed to hear Harps are reverting to the white shirts. I'm guessing the design will be something similar to that used to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their admission to the League. The white jerseys are just too plain and dull.
The blue shirt, white shorts and socks combination is preferrable for the home kit while I must say I quite liked the yellow and navy away kit worn when they won promotion in 2007 so a strip along those lines would be welcomed.
That red Dundalk shirt is the same design as the Rovers purple 2009-2010 away shirt.
We started 1 season with a Barcelona style kit ... unfortunately it didnt suit our style of play. Think Joey Malone was manager that season. Went back to blue & black after a few games but it was not of the striped variety, it was blue with some white above the chest and a black line around it. Awful looking thing.
