    External hard drive

Am in the market for an external hard drive, primarily so I can hook it upto the tv and watch films but also to free up space on the laptop.

    Any recommendations?

Have a 1terrabyte iOmega that has never given me any trouble, got it in Dunnes Stores for €99 around October. Have a 250GB Tevion from Lidl aswell for a year or so which is perfect, just more or less full now.

I have the 1TB iomega screenplay HD. Works grand, only things I can gripe about are the menu (functional) and there doesn't seem to be firmware to play h.264 (or whatever they're called, mp4) files.

Western Digital comes recommended, even my sister can use that.

And one of the mates recommend envizage.

Not sure about firmware for either of these though. But the newer envizage ones look the part.

Let us know how you get on, am thinking of getting a networked one later in the year

Posted about this before, I legally modified an XBox to use XBMC - http://xbmc.org/ - using the instructions in this thread on boards.ie - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showt...p?t=2055256404
Replaced the original 8GB hard drive with a 500GB for movies and tv shows
    Highly recommended

Keep your eye out for deals from ALDI. I got a 1TB EHDD there for about €50

    Thanks guys.

Will an external hard drive with a HDMI connection simply just work by plugging into the corresponding connection in the tv or will i also need a media player....like this:
