Is it to hard to have a schedual of friendlies for pre season and stick to them? Our pre season always seems to be a shambles. I know it might be athlones fault but every year last minute friendlies, players leaving or the manager etc whats going on?

According to Derry forum we forgot we were playing in Setanta that weekend, when we arranged the friendly...so yeah, game is off.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

How did Cass play, seen him play pre-season and considering the opposition - wasnt too impressed.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Rovers guaranteed top spot in Setanta group

Sligo Rovers have won their group in the Setanta Sports Cup after the now defunct Cork City were eliminated from the competition.

Rovers’ 3-2 win over Cliftonville last year, added to their draw with Cork at The Showgrounds, means that Paul Cook’s side top the group regardless of the result of Saturday’s tie against Cliftonville in Sligo.

i am not sure this is the case but maybe someone in the know should clarify

Ourselves and Cliftonville have been awarded 3 nil wins for our outstanding games with Cork .. As i read it that leaves the table like this

    Sligo 7pts
    Cliftonville 3pts

with one game to go.. bit of a joke, but no harm every game brings something in for the club,we might even win it, heard they are planning on revamping the format which i was surprised with cause i thought it would definetly be scrapped
