    Former players watch

Just to keep all the stories about current and former UCD players together.

First off - Enda Stevens to Burnley? Already had trials with Nottm Forest, Hull, Stockport and Yeovil. Must have improved an awful lot since last season!

    Enda Stevens signs for Rovers.

Pete Mahon confirmed as the new Pat's boss (had technically been a caretaker for the end of last season I think)

He'd been on a short term deal anyway - I got the impression he wasn't sure at the time that he was interested in taking it on full time.

Cawley to Dundalk is confirmed. Not sure how good they'll be next year.

    Clive to Australia, per dmanetc.

And not really a transfer or a rumour, but not worth a new thread and not bothered finding the old one, but Gary Dicker got off the mark for Brighton a couple of weeks ago; general view on the Brighton forum seems to be that him returning from suspension was one of the main reasons they went from drawing 0-0 at home to Leyton Orient to beating Wycombe 5-2 away in the space of three days. New manager Gus Poyet is on the Brighton site saying "On the ball, Gary Dicker was the best player on the pitch by far, and when I say by far, I mean by miles. The next one, with all respect to the 21 other players, was not even close." Not bad getting the main praise when one player scored four goals! If Brighton go down, I wonder if Gary could make the step up to Division One?

    Fight fight fight!

Tadhg Purcell gone to Darlington. I'll call that another of our former players playing full-time in Britain.

Seeing as we're keeping track of former players, Darragh Ryan has gone to Stevenage Borough. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...ge/8450230.stm

Could keep the stuff about former players in a different thread actually, gets annoying when you see a post in this thread and think that there's news about our squad for the coming season.

Conor Kenna to Pat's as a result of Drogheda's financial worries, it seems.

Drogs look like they'll be fairly weak this season. If they don't make it, Shels are next in line (assuming Bray take over Cork's spot), and they've weakened a fair bit since last season. Pat's suddenly look like they won't score or concede many.

Conor Sammon scored for Killie in the Cup at the weekend.

    Shane Fitz released by Galway.

Looks like Derek Doyle to Pat's is confirmed as he was on the bench for a recent friendly against Shels.

I make the full list of pre-season transfers as follows -

    Matt Gregg (Bohs to Dundalk)
    Conor Kenna (Drogheda to Pat’s)
Alan Cawley (St Pat’s to Dundalk)
    Hugh Davey (joined Glenavon)
Ian Bermingham (Shamrock Rovers to Pat’s)
    Paul Byrne (Bray to Pat’s)
    Enda Stevens (Pat’s to Rovers)
Tadhg Purcell (Rovers to Darlington) – three goals in first four games
    Darren Quigley (Derry to Fingal)
    Clive Delaney (Derry to Australia)
    Ciarán Martyn (Derry to Glentoran)
    Peter Hynes (Shels to Longford)
    Derek Doyle (Shels to Pat's)
    Philip Hughes (Kildare to Monaghan)
    Austin O’Neill (Kildare to Monaghan)
    Andrei Georghescu (Athlone to Bray)
Darragh Ryan (St Pat's to Stevenage) - second in the Conference; not made his debut yet since signing in January
    Shane Fitzgerald (released)

Timmy Purcell has joined Waterford, or is at least training with them. Played for them in a friendly last week.

I'm not sure how the anti-podes work but Clive is very tall.
