Cracking T20 final yesterday. I thought England had done enough after 19 overs.

Felt for Morgan. He must be devastated as his place in the team is at risk.

On the other hand, it might be the kick he needs to bring him back into the Irish setup.

Am I just dreaming, or is there a cricket pitch visible from the NII in Co. Wicklow, on the opposite side of the road from Lil Doyle's pub? Noticed it while driving up to the Bohs match last night. Thanks for any information.

North Wicklow CC (now Wicklow County CC) played there for a season or two in the Leinster Cricket League. Not the greatest wicket I am afraid.

Watched the 20/20 between England and Pakistan last night. Hugely impressive English batting line up and they were made to look second best to some great Pakistani bowling. The English commentators and batsmen murmured about the pitch and then the Pakistanis come out to bat and smash the ball to all parts of the ground. It's a funny old game.

Morgan will be doing well to keep his T20 place. Very hit and miss (pun intended) in his batting these days.

I see India hit the highest ever test score made against England today http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/c...-a7484121.html 759 no less and when you think how long cricket has been going for, that is some achievement but still a fair bit short of the highest total ever of 952-6 d by Sri Lanka (v India) in 1997. Man, I wouldn't like to have been out in the field for that one.

I was following it quite closely. That must have been soul destroying for the bowlers & fielders.

I only noticed after the match had ended, but Australia and Pakistan were in a thriller. I had assumed after the first inning it was a walkover.

Australia got 429 in the first innings while Pakistan flopped to 142 all out. Australia chose not to follow-on and batted to 202-5 before declaring and setting Pakistan a seemingly impossible 490 target. They nearly did it, scoring 450. I think they were 449-8.

The highest ever successful 4th innings chase was 418 although South Africa unforgivably batted for a draw a couple of years ago when a higher target was in reach with only a few overs left to play. I think when the 8th wicket fell the captain decided to play safe, much to the crowd's annoyance.

I have been in the field where the opposition have scored over 300 and that is soul destroying. I can only imagine what 759 can have felt like with the crowd cheering every run.

Like yourself I only spotted the Australian result after the game ended. So near and yet so far.It is amazing how difficult it is to chase in test match cricket. [[61,000 views in a cricket thread - amazing]]

Probably not what Ireland had in mind when they sought Test status!

Remember that time we were the best Associate nation and clamoring for Test Status...

Well Afghanistan are more or less into that play-off now.

    DISASTER!
