Do you want to be Rovers next webmaster?

With the Bit O’Red currently redesigning their official website, www.sligorovers.com is looking for a new webmaster for 2010 and beyond. The position requires patience, invention, a bit of technical knowledge, a fondness for football and anoraks and plenty of spare time.

This is an opportunity for a Rovers fan to really make a difference. Working with the club’s official site opens the door to understanding how the club really works. With access to the manager, players and back room staff, it provides a unique insight into the League of Ireland and offers fans the chance to channel their passion for the Bit O’Red in a practical and very worthwhile way.

You get to interview players, managers and fans. You get invited to openings and closings, signings and celebrations. You get grief and criticism and the odd few plaudits or pats on the back.

It’s not for the faint-hearted or sensitive. You’ll be held responsible for anonymous postings on errant message boards, for links that go wrong and you might even get a call from a player’s father trying to tell you that their son was not released but had in fact decided not to stay with the club.

It’s also fun. The press box is great craic (and warm). The chance to indulge yourself and hone interviewing or writing skills is second to none and ultimately your efforts are very much appreciated by the club’s officers.

So go on, you know you want to.

For more information, please contact Kevin Leydon at info@scene.ie or PM Kevin L on this forum.

    Thanks a million

I'd love this job and I think I'd be mighty at it. However, I have two questions.
    1) Do you need to have a computer?
    2) If you have a computer, do you need to know how to switch it on?

Would my anti-Paul Cook views exclude me? Only joking! I don't need you to answer this one.
