Finished 1-0 City. Doyler got the goal, heading in from about 3 inches after benno sent a great header goalwards from a corner. That was my first time seeing City play this season and Iwas fairly impressed. Attitude seems right, they played nice football, but I think we're still missing a cutting edge, hopefully once the new guys have gelled, that will right itself.

Starting team was:
Devine- didn't have much to do, made one excellent save after his poor punch was volleyed goalwards.
Hoggy- Had a blinder. Possibly the best player on the park. Absolutely perfect in defence, and 5 or 6 great runs forward.
Byrne- Looked solid but unspectacular. His distribution was fairly poor, but he did nothing wrong defensively.
Benno- Great assist for the goal, and a couple of great runs forward. His passing from the back was very good, but his positioning was a bit suspect on one or two occasions.
Billy - very solid, made one mistake to give the ball away but won it back quickly. Didn't attack as much as usual, but did very well.
Colin T- captain for the night and did a lot of shouting! Marshalled his troops well and had a pretty good game overall.
Georgie- Looked a bit lost in midfield, and galways tough "tackling" didn't suit him. Tried too hard to play a killer pass over the top instead of doing what he's good at- taking people on and passing it off.
Nwanko- played a fairly defensive role and was very good. Galway are a physical side but he held his own and passed the ball nicely too.
Kearney - very good game, alwas threatened and hit the crossbar from a corner.
Fenn- looked good and showed some nice touches, but dropped deep too much and seemed to get in georgies way.
Doyler - excellent as usual. Last season he was excellent, now he's scoring goals too

Team at the end was:
MacNulty
Greg Benno Lordan(?) Billy
Colin T Sweeney Kearney
Nolan Behan JOFlynn

Of the players who came on, Sweeny looked excellent, while the others didn't have time to do much. Kearney had come off for SOFlynn, but came backon after he was injured.

Dolan said they think Stevo has a fracture, probably in his ankle. Looked serious and he was stretchered into the ambulance .

Overall a good performance, but we didn't create enough chances, considering the quality AND quantity of possession we had.
