Don't think it will happen. There is too much pressure managing a team like Turkey, that Trap doesn't want or need. As his last football job I have no doubt Trap would opt for Ireland over Turkey.

Is it just me or is this them trying to come up with some sort of joke or trying to divert attention in the other direction?A report in French magazine L'Equipe has suggested that Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni is being courted by the Turkish FA.

A non story from that shower of .....
He has signed a contract extension for the next two years and have openly stated that he wants to bring Ireland to Brazil in 2014.
Wouldn't imagine there is a hope in hell of him leaving us for Turkey. He has a great little number at the moment, he is paid very well with regular flights from Italy to England and Dublin. He is revered by the players and certainly by the fans. He has spent the last 2 years building a squad of players that have been moulded into a team that can possibly achieve something. He has unfinished business with Ireland having failed to achieve what was initially expected/wanted. There are no guarantees that he would have a similar wage packet and/or success with the Turkish or for that matter any other nation.
You think he has a hard time speaking in English you should hear his Turkish.
Whya You ride the camel and notta the car?
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
I do not think he will go but its not a non story and L'equipe is a very respected and excellent sports paper to be honest and well worth a read. I have no doubt that the Turkish FA are looking to attract Il Trap but equally I have no doubt that he will stay with Ireland.
In Trap we trust
Trap has something to prove in the next campaign. He won't leave.
LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
Tardelli rules out Trapattoni for Turkey job: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2010/...apattonig.html
isn't the Trap the second highest paid international manager (behind Capello)? Turkey would need to rob a few banks for him to even consider it.
Turkey should go for Lawrie Sanchez...!!!!
I have to admit though that its pretty kewl that anonther country is interested in our manager.
Would would they be interested in Stan?![]()

Maybe San Marino might be interested in Stan
I
They're interested in trappatoni not our manager.

Bit weird why this story is still about, could understand it if Trap hadnt signed a contract. Thats twice in as many weeks he has had to reaffirm his commitment. Really hope there is nothing behind this.
A federation looking for a manager would be foolhardy to tap one that is on a 2 year contract @ Eur2m p/a.
I suppose the FAI could make a tidy profit if Trap's heavily subsidised contract was to be bought out.
No danger of the SFA tapping Trap when they were on the prowl for a manager.
I'd be delighted if the Turks came up with the cash to take Trappatoni. He is too old and one game apart (France away) we've been playing awful football.
Turkey would probably then lose 3 - 0 if that happened to us and every other team they played.
