Isaakson was awful when it really counted.
Anyone who has S. Hunt, A. McGeady or A. Reid as Irelands most overated left winger, has clearly fotgotton about Keith O'Neill
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
Aiden McGeady has to be in this team there's no way around it.
I say a prayer of thanks everytime I see him for Celtic that I don't support them because if I had to watch him every week i'd go mental.

LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
I'm going to go with this team:
Colgan
O'Halloran
Bennett
P. Murphy
O'Cearuil
Alan O'Brien
Liam Miller
Steven Gleeson
McPhail
Connolly
Daryl Murphy
The ones in bold I don't think merited an International Appearance whatsoever.
How Liam Miller is playing professional football beats the hell outta me....
I can only think of one who qualifies, Mark Kennedy.
One wonder goal for his club got him a big money transfer to Liverpool.
One wonder goal for us in a big game glossed over a very poor performance but had the country buzzing. Would have been included in the WC2002 squad, I'm open to correction but I never thought he was up to it.
When he found his playing level he was decent enough.
And from memory, it was to Kennedys credit that he stated he was not 100% and therefore shouldnt be included.
With regards to Colbert Report not giving James McCarthy a moment to adapt to the EPL. Its probably as well Fergie didnt have the same approach with the Worlds Current No1 Player or he would have been out on his ear after a season or two of stepovers, poor crosses, lost possession and general under performance. It was the latter half of his 6 year stint at Utd that Ronaldo really came in to his own (an extreme example I know but I think the point is still valid).
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

theres plenty of professional footballers in the BS premier im sure you could say the same about. the lad is finally playing regularly so give him the season to see how he fairs and judge him on that.. i dont think liam has ever said he was going to be the next pele? we all cant meet your high expectations.....
steven reid is the epitome of an overrated player and if you can't see that then the thread is piontless. irish people say english overrate their players yet they have players playing for the biggest european clubs, while steven reid goes on loan to queens park ranger
Off topic but that is not true - how do you think most of us know about Miller?, if it wasnt for O'Neill putting faith in him and trusting him to play in the CL for Celtic? Unfortunately for him (and us as Irish supporters), he then went on to believe the hype before he had strung 20 or so appearances together at the age of 23. It puts James McCarthys (at 18 years old) 100+ appearances for Hamilton in to context.
He saw the lights of Old Trafford and it all went downhill from there unfortunately.

sorry i phrased that afwullyi more ment to say that its the first time that a manager has made him an integral part of the team and an ever constant in the team when fit.. look i know millar hasnt lived up to the lofty expectations but he dosent deserve all the abuse he gets on here.. things are finally looking up for him and all people can do is give out...
