And we know that everything thats said on Citynet has to be true don't we!Interesting to see that Derek Mountfield is second place in Citynet's poll of best Cork City Manager
I have no idea what goes on in training sessions or in Board meetings so I can only comment on what i've seen on the pitch.
Managers are judged by results earned on the pitch. So far whether we lucky or not (IMO both lucky & unlucky at different times) Gunther can't be faulted with his record since he took over.
I saw some of Tynan last year but usualy only for 15-20 minutes & while he clearly was skillful lacked good judgement as a young player often does. Of course this should be coached into him but who knows whats happening on the training ground?
From what I see on the pitch Gunther does not seem to have any favourites. Hes already introduced Carey, O'Grady, Bennet & Colin P who are clearly very talented players.
I'd personally liked to have seen Tynan play this season to see if hes progressed but it appears hes been playing u-21 games & surely he should be running rings around other teams in that league? I'm sure some of the players I mentioned above would show their class in the u-21 league.
BTW IMO the best solution would be to retain Tynan on the city books & loan he off to Cobh or some other team for 3 months or the rest of the season. Tell him to show what he can do if he really wants to play for city? $hel$ loaned Foran out to Home Farm for a season to great affect.
