Btw, Meyler went to the centre circle by himself before the game today and prayed. I presume it was Hillsborough related.
A few in the Hull crowd were noisy during the minute's silence prompting the whole ground to applaud through the minute instead of observe the silence. Great response by the crowd but what kind of cretin would disrupt a minute's silence like that?
Meyler's very religious but I've never heard of him praying on the pitch before the game, so it would make sense it was to do with Hillsborough.
As for him playing the safe option, I can see that but I also thinking he provides a pretty good number of more forward-thinking passes, but he doesn't have the technical ability of Huddlestone where he can play the improbably pass, so a lot of his play would be about giving it to him and Livermore, or Quinn, who can do a bit more with the ball. Bear in mind too that, with his injuries, this is only his second full season of senior football. I think he's still in the improving stage.
I would think that Meyler will miss the biggest game of his career so far after a moment of utter stupidity today stamping on Januzaj near the end of the game.
There was absolutely no reason to do it at all, I know he was probably frustrated at losing the game, but it was almost like a testimonial game the way it was played and he will will probably now miss the FA cup Final over it.
Biggest piece of stupidity I have seen on a football pitch for a while
Its really not that complicated!!!
Do you have a video of it?
Found it:
It's slowed down so it looks worse than it is, but it certainly looks like he has a case to answer for. Completely brainless if he meant it.
It seems like it might not have been on purpose.
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
He left his foot it too long for it to be an accident
Its really not that complicated!!!
It's more of a step than a stamp. Looks clumsy more than calculated.

He might not have meant it initially, if could be possibly argued, but the opportunist in him certainly came to the fore once he found himself standing on the guy.
I hope he gets a substantial ban for that.
Looked deliberate to me. I hope his good record saves him from missing the cup final but I think he could be in trouble.
I don't think his good record should save him to be honest. Pep Giggs comments won't help him that's for sure.
Lets talk about six baby
disappointing from meyler particularly given his own nasty injury record. will get a 3 game ban for it
Well, I'd go with what Giggs thinks, super player, super pro, super injunction.
Could Hull appeal it and delay the ban to next season? Even if it meant Meyler got an extra game for a frivolous appeal?
Looks very deliberate to me - from the reverse angle , it looks as if he stamps his right foot down ,and from the frontal view , as per said above - he leaves his foot there way to long for it to be an accident
Disgusting thing to do - very dissappointed in Meyler for that
A ban is forthcoming - say goodbye to the Cup Final David .....shame!
He should have said sorry.
