Apparently, one of the members of the Italian parliament has requested that the Italian second strip for the World Cup, traditionally white, be changed to green because Henry's cheating will have been forgotten outside this island by the time the World Cup rolls around.

    Anyone else hear it?
Bit funny an Italian going on about cheating, when they ruined the last world cup for a lot of people with all there diving and falling around on the ground

The guy's response was... "ENGLISH? He can barely speaking ****ing Italian!"

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only telling you what they said.
Yeh give me a guy who can speak perfect English and Italian anyday over someone with a proven record in management.

From all the comments coming from FIFA over the match, for us it can be taken as:

    Forget
    It
    France
    Advanced

Personally, I think it should be let lie, and the only conspiracy was in the draw being changed. What should not be let lie is Blatter's statements on cheating, if they are as I have read from others on this forum (haven't clicked the links yet). There is a degree of cheating in all sports where an advantage can be gained by it. However, it is up to the organising body to attempt to stamp it out, and to set an example. Henry should be punished retrospectively, or at the very least, things put in place for the retrospective sanctioning of players for such behaviour. Blatter should not be making it "alright".

This post may be edited when I get a chance to read the Blatter comments for myself.

EDIT: No change for now as only minimal comments to be found.

That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Mick McCarthy's post match reaction was to say that in his tenure FIFA stood for Forget Irish Football Altogether.

Its a nice idea but the italy world cup kits have already been designedand are in production so unless someone in puma is psychic I don't think it'll happen. I think the keepers shirt is green so they could wear that!

As a country that is renowned for being less than honest in terms of football, I'd have thought they'd be walking out to La Marseillaise.

They could wear green armbands maybe and hold a minute's silence before their first game in rememberance of the integrity of the game.

    Then let the showbiz begin.

Almost certain it was NewsTalk, that's usually what I listen to on the radio, and others have said they heard it too
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook
