1- Holland, Great support and play good attacking football
2- Spain, Iniesta and the style of play
3- Italy, I've always liked them ever since I was a young lad, probably because I grew up watching Football Italia on RTE

I'd love to see a few smaller nations with good support do well and get a semi final place... Like S. Korea in 2002.

and of course whoever France & England are playin'

Slovenia for me. Don't understand people wanting England to do well. They're our biggest rivals and I want them to crash and burn in the group stages.

Australia for me because I live here now and my wife, inlaws and many friends are from here. Also a good run for the aussies would do wonders for the game here where it still struggles to get the public's attention. It also couldn't hurt the bids to host the WC.

Second is Argentina. I've always had a soft spot for the argies since Diego came on the scene - I have great memories as a young fella watching him weave his magic.

You do realise that there is a fierece rivalry between united and english fans with many united fans despising england?

Is that not partly because so many Man U fans are not from England
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Maybe but afaik the chants and songs come from the die hard local lads. And its not all one way traffic either with the english fans.

I'll be shouting for North and South Korea to both go all the way to the final, it would be great to see what Sepp Blatter would do after the fallout from that result Would anyone have the odds on that final pairing!!!

In honesty it would be great to see Spain win, never won a WC and I'l be shouting for them. Lots of unusual teams in there this year, the likes of Honduras, New Zealand, Slovakia and Slovenia always have a soft spot for an underdog so I'll be keeping a close eye on those.

Hopefully the likes of Germany,Italy, Brazil, France, England, et al all go out early (unlikely I know) just to stick it to Herr Blatter
Weaseling out of things is important to learn, it's what seperates us from the animals!! Well... except for the weasel.

brazil are the only team to win a world cup outside their own continent, so i can see maybe ivory coast getting to the quarters or semis

Slovenia, New Zealand and then when they got knocked out Spain. I'm not excited by football or the World Cup right now though. Soul still crushed by what some are doing to the game.

since neither belgium or ireland will be there im in a bind. i dont like the english team players, they don't have a player like michael owen, who attributed to me crying when argentina knocked them out in 98. spain, i dont really care about them. hey lets say germany. i like the team and the country.

yet i see st.georges and british flags(representing london for many) at games when they play away in champions league.

but still its a little different, irish people actively opt for the english league as the league from which to choose teams from.

True I've seen plenty of st georges when I've attended games but they are frowned upon by many.

Anyways if you want to read up on some of the anti-english feeling within United fans take a look at this: http://www.prideofmanchester.com/spo...gs-england.htm

Technically Mexico is in the Continent of North America. The Panama Canal is the division there.

Mexico - play in green, have always given good performances in previous tournaments, are long overdue a place in the quarters, and could very easily eliminate France. As for eventual winners, I'll go for Spain, they've always played stylish football and it would be good to have a new name on the trophy.
