    Next Irish Rep on Euefa

Suggeston from John Brennan in todays SundayWorld that we should look at appointing a high profile person as our rep in Euefa, and leaving them their long term to increase our influence.

I reckon this is a great idea but wouldnt agree with his choices, but reckon in Niall Quinn we could have an ideal ambassador, well liked, highly intelligent, veery passionate about his country and politically savvy.

    Any views?

I'm assuming he's still heavily involved in Sunderland?

If so, clear conflict of interest being involved in a member club of another UEFA national association.

Agreed, but would you agree that he would be the perfect candidate obviously on the basis that he would have to finish his association with Sunderland.

I personally think he would do a top class job.

If he left Sunderland and got involved in Irish football then yes, he'd be a good candidate as he seems a measured and capable individual.

    GF,

Have to disagree. Most "high profile" reps are empty vessels.

    I rather a "fixer" than a mouth.
Tifo poles, sausage rolls and a few goals.

That Sunday World was a joke today with reporters in Zurich and Barcelona. As bad as the Irish Sun's frequent "we care" campaigns, which punctuate their even more frequent "muppets" campaigns.

A "fixer" - just like PJ Gallagher's character on "Naked Camera". I like it.
