    Friendly v. Derby County

    According to spillage in tonites Echo City have arranged to play Derby County at the Cross on Tuesday 13th July. Derby are also to play Cobh later the same week.

    what's the bloody point of that? we'll be in the throws of the season, about to kick off in the inter-toto cup, definitely not the time to start adding fixtures, especially ones that won't attract a sizeable crowd.

    Thats a good point it seems stupid to add another fixture at that stage of the season but it's probably the only time that we could get derby over here.Your right though they won't attract a huge crowd to the cross because they have no big name players and haven't been in the premiership for a few seasons,so that won't attract a lot of the barstoolers.

    A bit ridiculous to have it then. However, if it gets a bit more cash in the kitty, i won't be complaining. I mean, City needn't even bother playing the first team.

    If we get through to the second round of the inter toto (which is a distinct possibility) we'll be playing Euro fixtures on those weekends so our league games may be moved to midweek. We'll have enough fixture congestion as it is without adding some silly friendly. That said, I suppose we could just use the U21's for the Derby game.
