Thought it was harsh myself, but SF were denied one, and possibly 2, penalites in the first half (the handball and the trip that was given as outside the box).
But yeah, Kelly was unlucky to be penalised for that, clearly moved in direction of ball, and was lookeing at ball, while Zayed went other way and I'd suggest Zayed's momentum carried him into Kelly, rather than Kelly fouling him

It was harsh on Sligo, they thought they had it won and probably played better overall imo. But credit must be given to Fingal, they played until the very end and got what they deserved. Great progress has been made by Fingal, a premier divison club after 2 years of existance and they will be in europe next season aswell. I have a feeling they could do fairly well in the premier next seaosn with many of their players with plenty of premier division experience.

    Makes perfect sense.

A club in limbo that isn't even sure if it'll be in the league next year has more support than the club that's just won the cup.

Not sure what you're struggling to grasp there....?

The difference being that Wallace could have paid good money for a series of league journey-men and then fast-tracked success in front of a handful of fans at home games

Instead he chose to go for the more sustainable slow-build mode

On the contrary, it's just indicative of the inability of Fingal fans to appreciate that their club is driving towards a French under-pass Lady Diana stylee - despite everyone pointing out the unsustainability of the club's model.

If a number of clubs with much bigger fan bases can still end up mired in financial crisis, then read the writing on the wall regarding your own.

Penalty was extremely harsh, Anders got the call wrong in my opinion.
Keeper stood his ground, ball was going away from Zayed, Zayed didn't touch the ball and ran into the keeper who stood his ground.

Felt especially sorry for Conor "Evil" O'Grady, didn't realise he was suspended til I read the paper yesterday.

Clumsy more than intentional by the keeper but thought it was a penalty to be honest. Must say I thought Kelly did well as ref yesterday, he kept the game flowing and did not chase the limelight (as has sometimes previously occurred)

Fingal deserved their win though it probably wasn't a penalty but I'm sure it is made all the sweeter by the epic bitterness by I'm guessing Shels and Sligo fans.

it's more likely to be 5-1.

Unfortunately for Sligo, Rovers didn't lose the league because of Sligo. We had already lost it against Cork. Sorry

So if we bought all our allocation from the FAI and where giving them away, then why did we have to give them back or risk being charged for them?
I call horse********, I met 3 fans yesterday on the Luas who were talking about the tickets they had recieved through their letterbox. Strawberry can confirm this.

So no - it's not amazing. It's money. And it's an unsustainable club that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Dublin City experiment. Granted - Fingal are making genuine efforts to tap into their locality, but it takes years to build-up a fan-base for a football team. I doubt Fingal's friendly property backer will continue to throw money at them until they do.

Compare Fingal to Wexford Youths and you'll see the difference between a new club that is genuinely building-up slowly and one that is just using someone else's money to try to fast-track that which can't be expedited. It's difficult to see anything other than a car crash in Fingal's future at some point.
The 'M1 Dons' car crash is already in motion......

I shudder to think from whom Gerry Gannon has been recieving the finance to fund Fingal County Council F.C. over the past 12 months

Turns out the club bought the allocation and gave the tickets away for free, again. So if YOU paid for your ticket more fool you.

I feel sorry for the few Sligo fans who couldn't get their hands on a ticket.

He'd be well known in Rush and if you want to PM me, i'll tell you his name. No bloke at the end of the bar crap, as i said i'll name him if you want.
