What I wanted to know and I didn't see anything in this thread about was if the club were having any celebrations or fans getting together anywhere as most clubs would do after winning the FAI cup. You didn't answer that except with a smug "just because you don't know about it.." . I'd have thought a community club such as yerselves would want to celebrate in the midst of the community somehow and thank them for their great support?. Anyhow this is going nowhere so have a good one however you choose to mark the occasion.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Steve, this is ridiculous - do you think Wexford Youths would exist without Mick Wallace, and if he were to go in the morning stil be going? And as for "genuinely building up" Fingal are working in the community with local clubs and making a massive effort to develop a support base, as any new club should do. Plaudits due where they are!
The deterioration of this thread is exactly the reason why our league is dying on it's knees, jealousy, small mindedness and fear.
I'll have to stop you there and ask you to stop lying. A good friend of mine from Rush, North County Dublin, rang me on Friday night asking me did i want some free tickets for the cup final, he'd about 30 he was trying to get rid off. Turns out the club bought the allocation and gave the tickets away for free, again. So if YOU paid for your ticket more fool you.
I feel sorry for the few Sligo fans who couldn't get their hands on a ticket.

If they can afford to blow 1000s every week on wages then it no surprise to me that they can afford to pull this stunt. If Fingal couldnt give away tickets for the Cup final, they what hope have they got? People dont value or appreciate anything they get for free. Fingal are only cheapening themselves with stunts like this.

I am the 'Hypochrist'! All bow down before me!
Wonder if we were looking at the same game?!![]()
First half was poor, but the second half was great end to end stuff. Fair play to both teams who played it on the ground, and Sligo support was magnificent.
remember the conditions were not ideal for football at all
I was in the end with the Fingal support but had a Sligo scarf on. I have to be honest and say I'm impressed with the way Fingal are going about things - trying to build a support especially amongst the young. Dont know why so many are peed with this. And they play really good football. There strikers and midfielders are great going forward.
Thought it was a peno, it looked very clumsy. Maybe a draw was the fairest result, but Fingal never gave up.
I enjoyed it anyway, even if it was bloody cold and wet.![]()
Well done Fingal. Hard luck Sligo. It was a decent game, espeically the second half, considering the conditions.
And well done to everybody who has managed to avoid this thread and not come across as a whiny little runt. "Oh, you have no fans, you're not a real team, you don't know what supporting a team is, blah blah blah." Bunch of moaners the lot of you.
Fingal are in the league, and doing well in it. I hope they do well in Europe. "They're just having money thrown at them" - so f**king what? I'd love for somebody to do that at my club. And if they do go bust 5 years down the line, so be it. I'm guessing there might be one or two clubs, pure bastions of football whose countless fans all have heads adorned by halos, who've gone bust before then anyway.

Not true my friend. I was involved in selling them (IN RUSH i might add). The FAI called the tickets back on Friday. I had to bring the remaining tickets back or the club would be charged for every ticket not accounted for. So if we bought all our allocation from the FAI and where giving them away, then why did we have to give them back or risk being charged for them?
Can we leave the, I heard it from a bloke I know at the end of a bar stuff off the thread thanks.
Can I ask what club you support?

OK, shoot me now but congrats to Fingal on winning the cup ! While I would have preferred Sligo to win ( as previously declared) I have no hesitation in saying well done to SF on a great season.
Regarding the finanacial set up at Fingal I find it funny that many of those complaining about the investment made at Fingal are the same that lament the lack of investment in the LOI![]()
SKY+'d the match last night and watched the goals and other main talking points of the match, I was in the North Stand when the penalty was given, and I still stand by what I said, that wasn't a penalty. Fair enough, Zayed was denied a shot on goal in a 1v1 situation, but Kelly had his eyes on the ball and had no intention of bringing Zayed down, by the looks of it Zayed couldn't slow and he fell over Kelly's leg. Very hard decision to give for the referee though, but was surprised he didn't book the keeper either. The team still should have played much better, we were missing O' Grady, but when your facing a team who knocked at Shamrock Rovers' in that very stadium, then you cant just take it easy, we tried to defend a 1-0 lead and never really looked comfortable, Keane bailed us out alot, as did Peers but Fingal just never gave up. On the day they were deserving champions, whatever Rovers threw at them Fingal responded in kind. Good luck next season Fingal, if anything ye'll be even stronger and hopefully have a good run in Europe for the good of the club and the league, it might see some new fans for your club too.
Coleman for Ireland
So are you calling me a liar then? Why would i lie, i've no reason to make that up, it's exactly what happened. Now Lamper, i don't know if you are from Rush or not but it's a small enough place and if you are i'd say you'd know the person who offered the ticket to me. He'd be well known in Rush and if you want to PM me, i'll tell you his name. No bloke at the end of the bar crap, as i said i'll name him if you want.
Oh and i'm a Shels fan.
