oops, looks like we're not quite without sin ourselves...to me anyway.

Another self-loathing thread. 40 footers would be proud. From FIFA site
Giovanni Trapattoni's visitors, beaten 1-0 in Dublin last Saturday in the first leg of their play-off, had taken a shock lead in the 32nd minute through Robbie Keane and the Irish were unlucky not to score more before forcing the match to extra time. In the first additional 15-minute spell, France had an appeal for a penalty correctly turned down after striker Nicolas Anelka tumbled to the turf under pressure in the eighth minute.
Five minutes later, William Gallas bundled the ball home to win the match for Les Bleus after being set up by Thierry Henry, who later admitted that he had handled in the build-up. The goal enabled France to qualify and avoid a repeat of their humiliating failure, at the hands of Bulgaria, to qualify for the 1994 FIFA World Cup finals.
Funny the use of humiliating failure....I think the French have managed to succeed in completing a humiliating victory.
Wonder if they'll be booed in S.A.? I think so.
Poor attempt. Some amount of WUM's on this site the last few days.
Dya not think there is even potential for a cute donegal flick on the ankle with the right hand as he comes across him....I'm genuinely not so sure....
Doesn't take away from my pride in the performance in the slightest btw....voice only arrived back on the TGV an hour ago :-)
Does anyone else see Given get a touch on the ball after Anelka tries to knock it past him? I had my doubts previously, but now I'm going to have to say no penalty
He was on the way down and then stuck his leg in between Given's and dived.
If you've nothing good to say, say it.
100% dive. Just like Evra at Croker. Cheating runs right through the whole team. I know who I will be cheering for when they play England in SA.
"Football is a game you play with your brain".
They'll probably end up winning the whole thing, this criticism will likely have a galvanising "us against the world" type of effect on their team. In an odd way I hope they do win it, because it will be a tainted cup, and they will be reminded of the fact for decades!
Can't cheer for England, will probably cheer for Italy as they had dignity when we played them and will make our 2nd place showing look that much better.
