Africa Cup of Nations 2010: Foot.ie trip?

Flagging this up early, and a bit of a crazy suggestion.

I now already that due to work issues I won't be able to make it to the WC in 2010 so tempted by a trip to the ACN.

With the chances of Ireland making it still good, most of my regular travel partners are committed to that. However I am investigating the possibility of heading to Angola for a week or two to watch the ANC in Jan/Feb 2010.

Anyone else making the trip or interested in investigating the possibility of a trip?
Tifo poles, sausage rolls and a few goals.

Love watching this tournament, but wouldn't fancy Angola. Bit on the dangerous side no?

Absolutely dreadful civil war for ages in Angola alright. Was reading up a bit on it recently for some reason. Things are relatively stable on a political level now though and they've a good bit of oil and gold and minerals so there is some hope. Although the country is ravaged with landmines. That's about all I remember because to complete my research on Angola I said I'd better see what the women are like. The politics became less important when I saw who won Miss Angola recently.

Yes I'm considering it. But the World Student Games (Universiade) is on in Belgrade, Serbia in July '08

Was at the Egypt '05 Tournament don't you know. With everyone bending over backwards to help you.
