Football, in general, is a joke.
any links to what Wenger and Lizaraxu said?
cheers
I bet if Gary Twigg did to Bohs what Henry did last night, you'd be just as passionate as those complaining here.Just because you are a LOI fan, (which I am and have been for many years) should not make you less of an Ireland fan..and despite what you say, that's the impression given here. You may not have stated it explicitly, but I think its the pretty obvios interpretation. In addition, your continued sniping is that of somebody with a serious inferiority complex

Honestly I wouldn't. I am being serious. I like football, I like Bohs. But I understand that none of this underpins my emotional, psychological and personal relationship to the world around me as a whole.
At the end of the none of this really matters. Just a bit of entertainment and to take it too seriously is very unhealthy.
I know because I used to be just like what you described above and when you step away from it and look back at yourself you realise that a lot the emotions you thought were your own, were actually implented into from outside of yourself.
This is why you are so upset. It mass hysteria regardless of it you want to accept it or not.
Dear Thierry, I hate what you did but I still love you. Will you marry me?
That would be the best punishment for him to have to put up with me for the rest of his days.

I can't find the wenger one now but he has been pretty decent about it
noen of these guys are suggesting replays mind you. of course.
yes because I'm the one being delusional about this process
I've made my points about how hypocritical I feel Irish fans are being about this in another thread, I assume you've read those, so please take me up on where I have gone wrong and I'll happily debate you on it
The ref should have dissalowed it ,but it doesnt give henry an excuse....so you saying its not thierry henrys fault AT ALL for delibertaly attempting to handled the ball to help his team score ....Very desperate by henry,Very desperate by france also, they are meant to be a big dog country and they have to come down to this to win against a mediocre side like us.
To be fair he should have let the ball go. He knew he was offside, he should have did the decent thing and let it roll for a goal kick on acocunt of him being offside, then he would not have to make the decision about handling the ball.
In fact, the game should be self regulated by the players employing the honour system.
So I assume you think Robbie Keane was a cheating desperado when handling in the box as well?
How about how we did Georgia out of two points in the group stages by not pointing out to the ref that he gave a penalty when we never should have had one?
Should we have offered a replay there too?
Serious answers please, I'm sick of the usual silence or 'you're a wum' response
you commented on that itf it was the other way around we wouldnt complain..well it isnt, maybe it was instinctive by henry and alot of people would have done it but then he goes off celebrating and if it didnt happen. The ref should have seen it and the whole irish team saw it.If i was one of those players i wudnt been able to contrl my temper...Its a disgrace.Henry is a disgrace and i that incident follows him to the grave.
He could have done a robbie fowler on it and admitted to not being fouled. If he is SUCH a great ambassador to the game he would ahve done that but instead he chose to escape and show how desperate his country were.
talking to all the lads on my sweedish team on football identity and they all think its a disgrace
Doesn't change the fact that Robbie tried to cheat and so is as big a disgrace as Henry (in some people's eyes) does it? Just means Henry got away with it and Robbie didn't
And why do you, and otehrs, seem to think Henry was once this shining example of sportsmanship? Remember his dive in World Cup 06 against Spain that set France off to a 3-1 win? He falls over quite easily for Barcelona every week as well, as does Messi, and Zlatan. Are they any less cheats than Henry?
I can't believe people are bringing up Keane's hand-balls as some sort of refutation to the outrage over Henry's actions. Setting aside the fact that Keane was penalised for each of the incidents involving hand-ball, I don't think one of them was truly intentional, as Henry's clearly was.
The problem you have is that you see no scale in offences. You seem to struggle that Henry's offence was different from a run of the mill issue. I think if Anelka had got the pen and they had won from that we'd all be angry but I dont think we'd feel the same. Henry did something that shocked even regular football watchers around the world.
I think at least one of them was intentional and as I said, it doesn't matter that he was caught, he was still cheating
Setting aside the handballs Keane is one of the main culprits week in, week out in the Premiership for trying to influence refs into giving corners, frees, throws, whatever when he knows damn well they're not his teams. That's cheating as well and I find it very hypocritical of him to moan about Henry cheating Ireland when he tries to do likewise to other teams every week, and I find it even worse that some people who watch football are equally hypocritical in pretending that cheating doesn't happen in every match nowadays
Can any of honestly say you've never shouted for the ref to give a corner/penalty/whatever when watching your LoI team even though you know no foul has been committed or the ball hit your player last?
Cavan Fan: I've said throughout this that I think there are two sides to this, whether you condemn cheating in all it's forms, or you don't, there's no middle ground whereby some of it is okay, other things aren't. Dunne tugging the shirt of Govou during a corner so he can't jump is cheating, Anelka diving is cheating and Henry and Keane using their hands is cheating.
You either think that it's okay to do so or you don't. I think it's that simple

Imo, i think the game should be replayed. I really think its time for video replays to be used also , but for action leading to a goal only.
