All 22 eircom League clubs have now been awarded club licences. The final first division licence was issued today following a two-hour meeting of the UEFA Club Licensing Appeals Committee.
There are now 21 first division licences and 1 premier licence awarded. All licences have been issued with sanctions.
FAI Chief Executive Officer Fran Rooney said he was pleased that all clubs had now gained licences. “While clubs have made significant efforts to improve standards as part of Club Licensing, the momentum needs to be sustained as part of a continuous improvement process,” he said

Congrats lads....now build on it.Ye might want to start by askin the FAI why they dished out E120'000 to St Pats yet they left ye lads sweatin over your existance without a penny to ease the burden!!!!.Ye know what? Maybe we are whingers lads afterall, but when youre in a division thats basically 50% Dub and they get 100% of the attention and effort from the FAI,maybe ye'll undertsand why we have to speak out and stand up for ourselves. If you dont speak out be prepared for the FAI to shaft ye!!!
But again lads congratulations...now do us a favour ....keep those Ballybofey sheep molestors down!!!!
Thank you very much.Originally posted by brendy_eire

Hope this clears everything up for those who were shocked at the level of intellect and wit in that last post!![]()

I'm gonna open myself up to being stalked and killed here, but I hope that when Limerick were awarded the licence that some conditions were attached in terms of them getting their house in order. I want to see a strong Limerick team in the league, because it can only be a good thing, but there's no point in the licensing being there if clubs are going to be awarded them without making progress.
anyway, congrats![]()
You're right. There would have to be i'd say. Thats why I said the real battle is only beginning.
Fantastic news!!! Great day for football in Limerick.
According to the papers conditions are attached however this is nothing strange and other clubs have the same. We do have alot further to go than other clubs though.
We've got a season now to get things right off the field.
I really hope you are right. I am not convinved that this will go down as a great day for Limerick FC. This committee has had more than one season to get things right off the field. They had a club that was going forward in terms of generating interest in the city and on the cusp of winning the First Division (if last seasons squad had been retained and a couple of players added). That momentum has been killed stone dead and the people who want to help the club are being p1ssed off by the lack of openness from the committee. One thing will really save this club and that is community. Generating a feeling within the city that this club belongs to the city and represents the city. This means involving people and being open to the ideas of people who want to get involved in the club. I don't think that is present in the club currently. I really hope I'm wrong.Originally posted by gspain

I hate bringing such a b um note to the thread but realistically has anything changed between Tuesday and today in terms of how the club is run. What has occurred to give confidence that things will indeed get any better?

well done, mayge this is an omen for a good season....
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
Yesterday could have been the death knell for senior football in the city. Had the decision gone the other way we would not have had a team in the league.Originally posted by LFC in Exile

Would you have preferred if it all went bang yesterday?
There is a lot of wrok to be done and you may have valid points but it would be much harder to get back than to stay in.
It's great for everyone that it didn't all go bang yesterday. If it did however, it wouldn't have been the end of the world. We would be out of football for one season, a new club formed, probably by people who actually DO give a toss about the game and its fans, unlike the 3 man goon show that currently pulls the strings.
Theres a long long way to go now, and now its going to get really tough on all involved.
Lets hope they prove us wrong and do some good!![]()
