I hope he is right, but I think that the Irish camp, fans, and media have being over-playing the importance of the crowd. I mean, the French players play for some of the biggest (and most hated) clubs around, they are used to hostile crowds. They are also surely used to the French home crowd being fickle at this stage by now too.
Saying that, I'm sure our lads will give a bit extra when they see 10,000 Irish fans singing their hearts out!
Anyway, we have to score first. I was reading L'Equipe and they think France have to score first (or draw nil-all) because they have a very poor record when they concede first.
" In contrast, a goal virtually ruin French hopes of qualification. Under Domenech, the Frence team has never lost in 90 or 120 minutes after scoring the opener. In contrast, a first goal would make us vulnerable: three wins, five draws and ten defeats in this case. "
So if we nip in and score first who knows. It's just a matter of taking our chances, we WILL create them.
Am I the only one that feels so sick thinking of the game, I'd rather sleep till tomorrow night because tomorrow is going to be agony waiting for this!
