Ok mate, you keep believing your right.
Our budget has been reduced this season. That is a fact. But hey, you know it all!

Oh I fully accept that Sligo will be working off a smaller budget than last season. It has to. In fact I'd say that the club is regreting signing Turner using the European money that isn't coming. As for Turner turning down more money from Sham Rovers to play with Sly Rovers, give us a break!!
Neale Fenn on retiring: 'I think once you finish you might as well finish rather than making all sorts of comebacks.'
No i don't know it all but i have the experience of being the fan of a club who was told "we're working off a reduced budget next season". Now that alone doesn't mean you're wrong and i'm right but i will say don't believe everything you're told by your club.
Now lets say you are right and you are working off a reduce budget, it still doesn't mean you are living within your means.
Personally, looking at the Sligo situation, i don't believe you've reduced your budget but thats just my opinion on it. We'll know who was right come the end of the season but you don't have to get so defensive about it![]()
They always cheat, they always lie
**** Delaney and the FAI
It's simple really.
Every player in the league would rather play for Shamrocks than anybody else.
Any player who chooses to sign for another team instead of Shamrock must be signing for them because he was offered more money. There is no other explanation for turning down Shamrock that could possibly make sense![]()
Have Fingal released anyone or are they keeping everyone who won promotion?
you do know that a 2 year contract isnt more expensive than a 1 year? they still pay him the sae wages every week? if they are not stupid with money and can pay wages it is a good deal for sligo. their guranteing themselvel 2 years of his services or a season and a transfer fee? its a god buisness and footballing decision?
Sweet Jesus, let me break it down. I'll use even and lower numbers to make it easier on you.
Lets say we have a budget of 10,000 per week, we release:
Owen Morrison. -500/pw
Martin Camano. -500/pw
Joe Kendrick. -500/pw
Ger Rafter. - 500/pw
Rob Turner. -500/pw
So 2,500 is taken from the budget, now we have used 7,500 of our 10,000 budget. We sign Turner for 500/pw and now we have used 8,000 of our budget.
So now, read it slow, read it twice.
I know this probably sounds a bit mad, but in terms of budget, how much is made through gate, merchandise and sponsorships (and prizemoney) and how much is shovelled into the club by supporters and well-meaning businesspeople? This isn't just in relation to Sligo, it comes from a conversation I had many moons ago in Benny Bradys regarding such matters. At the time the co-op were trying to put Dundalk right and one of the former head people (a certain travel agent) told me in no uncertain terms that annually he put in around £100,000 punts to keep things afloat, and this was off the books or at best "loans".
