the end of the 09 season

Well we finished 6th in the end, feel like we should have secured 5th really. What were peoples high/low points of the season. Think it was a good one, are we ready to push for promotion next season?
For me the home form is just terrible and cant believe we havent improved on it. The additions to the squad were really good, the defence looks so much better and with sheehan up front we can always grab a goal.
watching us win in athlone, ucd and against shels were high points for me.
Seems like we're lost a good few players this year with them returning to their clubs, will this continue or will we be able to keep them and also add a few signings? I'm quite worried but still optimistic about next season.
    Any thoughts?

well we are pretty much amature afaik(sinnott is employed by the club i know that) gonna stay amature anyway and it might not be such a bad model considering the state of the LOI.
Anyway lets keep this thread on topic please. (just in case it turns into a amature v professional debate)
really want to know if the youths supporters were happy with our season, i believe attendances havent been great this year despite this being our best season

Well happy enough with 6th place, would have taken that at the start of the season.
Our defence was probably our biggest improvement on previous years, Packie Holden and David Breen doin their parts.
Most dissapointing aspects has to be our home form and lack of goals(really need to sort out the goalscoring problem)

The home form and lack of goals was the big disappointment, we went ages in the summer without a home goal, frustrating to watch them loose to Kildare and then go away and beat a big club. Hard to keep the crowds when the home form is so poor.

Highlight, i dont get to aways so there was precious few, i suppose the Wolves game was memorable for the occasion. Beating Harps at home was decent as they were a relegated bigger team with a lot of history. The new solidness of the team, defence in particular was pleasing and Sheehan was a revelation for the final 3rd of the season. Also nice to see a lot of youths come in and do well, Dempsey, Broaders, Vickers, Keohane + 3-4 more. Nice to see Furlong make a comeback and hopefully we'll have a few older faces back next season aswell, Paul Murphy, JFoC, Miller.
