    Unhappy End of an era

Yesterday's game against Derry City was the first game in the Showgrounds with the Shed closed to supporters of the Bit O' Red because of new Uefa licence rules. It's now going to be knocked down. I can see the Showgrounds being a very quite place next season

    End of an Era

Are there any plans to put seats in the shed end of the Showgrounds?
It's been a while since I have visited the ground (1989) but wouldn't that comply with U.E.F.A. Licencing regulations.

I don't think so. I heard a rumour that it may be repaired and reopened because of security concerns for big game's like harps etc

    End of a Era

Well the Shed End would be needed for big derby games with Finn Harps , Galway United, Athlone Town and Longford Town and Derry City in future seasons or possibly the Cup. Cause whether the critics of the Eircom League believe it or not, those games do attract respectable attendances.

It would be progress if the Shed End did get seats and might bring you over the Premier Division and even European Club game quota.
