    Parking in Dublin

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere to park for next Saturday? This will be my first time driving to dublin for the game... Should I park in a multi-story in the city centre somewhere? Or can anyone recommend somewhere?

    Thanks!!

List of car parks available here.

You're probably better off parking on the north city centre and then walking down to Croke Park (Its only a 10 minute walk from O'connell Street)

I usually park in Bolton St Car Pk. Its 10/15 min walk from there. I only drive to mid week games and there is always spaces, would think it would be the same on Sat.

Really depends on which direction your coming from.

If you are coming from the West, you should park at the train stations in the likes of Maynooth or Leixlip and get the train to Drumcondra which is about 5 mins walk from the ground. If you are coming from the south, park the car at the luas park and ride at the red cow and get the luas in. Parking in Dublin can be an awful pain if you dont know where you are going.

Yeah, if coming from the south your best bet is the luas car park at the Red Cow, and the luas in. Saves you loads of time. it can be tricky enough getting back to the luas with so many people going the same direction after the game. But once you get there your straight on to the motorway and away you go!!

Agreed. Dublin doesn't do signposts. The only way you know you are in a townland is usually by the name of a pub/shop e.g. Rathmines Inn etc.

Anyway, even if you are staying over night, red cow/train car parks are cheap. Red cow is about 4 euro or so for 24 hours.

Just be careful you don't leave much in the car, bearing in mind that it could be targeted because of the weekend that is in it. Don't forget the rugby is on too, so best to arrive early and get a good space.

nightmare to get away from though
consider parking around glasnevin cemetery, or finglas road: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=glas...10933&t=h&z=17
It's about 15 minute walk to the ground, parking is free, and you're straight on to the N2 afterwards

Dont park there. It will take you a few hours to get out after the game.

If staying overnight in the city centre try this one off Grafton Street.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,0.006877&z=17

It is on Drury Street and they do a overnight rate of i think 10euro,all locked up safe and secure.

The Big Tree Pub on North Circular Rd also do parking €8-10 and close to the ground. We were back in Cork for 12.40am after the Italy game.
    Give it to feet......

I use this car park all the time, and it's never taken more than 10 mins to get out and on the road.

The train from Maynooth will be seriously stuffed - lots of people have the same idea.
If you're coming from the west I'd park at Liffey Valley and take the bus into town. The car *should* be safe but it's up to you. From the south, I'd do the Red Cow thing.
You are best to avoid the city centre, in all honesty.
