    Mervue

Wexford left two points behind them tonight when only drawing nil-nil with Mervue. Missing Breener and Sinny, Wexford started 4-5-1 with Aust and Broaders out wide, Gary on his own up front and Chris Kenny in midfield with Shane and Patsy. First half was uneventful except for injury to Mervue keeper midway through when he crumpled to the ground after going over Gary's shoulder and eventually went away by ambulance. Gary then tested the new keeper with a good shot from an angle while Mervue's only chance came from a half-hit shot from a cross when the attacker should have done better.

Wexford dominated the second half but couldn't score with chances falling to Patsy who stuck a header just wide from a corner, Tiernan who got just under a header when clear and put it over the bar and Danny Furlong who couldn't beat the keeper when he moved onto a through-ball. Think it's Danny's first appearance of the season after his injuries and could form a great partnership with Gary next year if both stay. Packie made a routine save from one shot from Mervue in the second but otherwise didn't have much to do. Think Mick reckons his most important match of the weekend is against Bray tomorrow as Jimmy K. was also rested. About 350 there but lots of kids so paying attendance would have been less. Patsy had a stormer in midfield and won loadsaball.

Yes game is on. Only about €250 quid in the difference from what I can gather. Its not about the money, its all about the pride!
