God bless you eirebhoy. Heartbreaking.
A tragedy & a loss
RIP
God bless you eirebhoy. Heartbreaking.
Hi Lads,
I was talking to the a friend of mine who knows Gearoid's family and they really appreciate all the comments that have been left, Gearoid's brother who is in Austraila will have a look at all the comments on this thread later on
I have been so flat out busy in last few days that this was my first few minutes on foot in awhile and I thought it must be a joke when I saw RIP.
I hadnt heard any news in last few days either so have only just heard about it.
I am in shock. Crying my eyes out in the office here, can barely type. I didnt have much interaction with eirebhoy (I probably irritated him too much) but I have read many of his posts and always admired his intelligent gentle debate.
It really feels like a friend has died, he was a part of the football family in real life and virtual life, so that makes him my family.
RIP Geroid, my heart breaks for your family and those who knew you and loved you.

Rest in peace Eirebhoy, always liked reading your posts
"when the seagulls follow the trawler,
it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea" Ooh Ahh

His mum must find it very very hard to be so forgiving in these circumstances. Gearoid would be so proud.
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
RIP Eirebhoy
Green blood ran through those veins - God Bless you and your family.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
RIP Eirebhoy. Lets hope McGeady does the business in your honour in 2 weeks time. It would be great to see a large flag at either of the games, hope this happens.
I
The attack happened on Sunday?
I have been visiting foot.ie for over a year now and I have made some controversial statements during this time. It was these statements that got me into hot water with Eirebhoy. While I always believed I had an argument - Eirebhoy would set me straight in the most objective and reasoned of fashion. It is funny I always thought Gearoid was much older than the very young 23 probably because his posts were always extremely mature and considered. My heart goes out to his poor family and I hope that in reading these posts they might find some small comfort. May you always keep an eye on this site Gearoid and I know you'll be watching the play-offs from heavan. I will be thinking of you at these games. EIREBOHY R.I.P
So sad. He was a real gent
RIP Eirebhoy. With regards to a fitting tribute to him maybe the crowd should sing You'll Never Walk Alone before the France game at Croke Park. He was a huge Celtic fan and I'm sure he would appreciate this song being played in his honour. It would also help to get the crowd going before the game.
RIP Eirebhoy your spirit will be with us always like all true fans. A flag would be a proper tribute and a minutes applause at the French Game.
We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"
Rest In Peace, Gearoid.
And may your God go with you.

You were a gentleman with wisdom beyond your years.
Sadly missed, but not forgotten.
RIP Eirebhoy, a total shock to hear of your passing.
As has been said already, a true gent, clever and informed. A great loss.
Resign, now!
Rest in Peace Gearoid. Very very sad news.
I heard and read all about Gearoids death in Sydney, only found out now its our own Eirebhoy! I am disgusted and saddened by this news.
I joined this forum 5 years ago and have always been astounded at Eirebhoys wealth of knowledge and about Irish football! Always flattered if he commented on my thread or post and always thankful for sharing his knowledge, facts and videos with me as I spent time in america and read from afar!
When I think of foot.ie i think of Eirebhoy. And now always will.
You'll always be missed.
