got home just as his fight was starting(it was live on eurosport)

i have to say boys i have not seen a better prospective irish amateur boxer ever!!.
that might sound a bit over the top bearing in mind carruth,dowling etc but this guy is outstanding.

jab,in , punch ,out.
i hope im not putting the evil eye on him but i think he will go all the way

He's total class....definitely has a major future ahead of him. He's a dedicated, level-headed young fella that has always wanted one thing: to box at the Olympics.
Limerick now has two major medal prospects going to Athens; Andy Lee and Sam Lynch (World Champion Rower).
Pity about the soccer side of things though.....

Cork isnt Irish now? We had one in Sydney, cant remember his name now. He lost in the 1st round.

best of luck to andy tonight friday 27th as he fights in the semi final against a very useful german opponent.

i think its timed to start about 7 o clock and i think it will be on eurosport as his quarter final was.
check out the commentator (i think its reg gutterridge)as he is rooting for the irish lad
