well Ive said my bit about the planning and Ill leave it go at that. hopefully there will be another one next year as I said it was very enjoyable.
seen as Derry have been kicked out of the league and Cork wont be far behind them dont be surprised to see a major re shuffle before the start of next season.
PS....Kildare have gone also.

Nah cant see it although theres talks of the fai bringing in a adminstrator to run our club for few months, and that might possibly lead to us coming back, i heard 18 team league every team play twice and we could be apart of that set up, supposedly this is set up for the benefit of city and bohs because the fai dont have the balls to throw them out. Heard that from a LOI manager

It was on the radio this morning that Salthill Devon will come in for Kildare next season.
Three league clubs in Galway sounds like a lot for the area to support.
Anyone else think its unfair that the "new" Derry are allowed to skip the A league and come into the 1st division. Doesn't help that they seem to have a big enough budget going by the players they are talking to.

I'm still holding out hope that won't happen.
I think it is wrong if it does. They are a new club, and like any new club wanting to join the LOI, should start at the bottom rung of the ladder.
It isn't, in my opinion, enough of a deterrent to clubs to have a team/company fold and a newly established team allowed to join the first division. Especially a team like Derry who might end up with only one season out of Premier division football.
If however the FAI deems them the same Derry as before, I hope they get hit with a points deduction which means they won't get promoted, thus ensuring that they are out of the premier for at least two seasons (which I think would be enough of a deterrent for the future).

Ya id agree with that either start them in the A championship or take points the same happened to Leeds when they folded the holding company.
That would be the right thing to do,....therefore...
I understand the league needs Derry though, perhaps it would be a risk to the league to start them in the A, as much as I would not like to compete with them for promotion in the first this season.![]()
I very much doubt Derry will be turfed out to the A Championship. Not too bothered though, as it is a good away trip to look forward to, and we are going to walk this tin pot league in 2010 with Purcell all signed up.
