Given all the breaches in licensing this year, the structure won't be obvious next year.
With team like Bohs and Cork, surely the latter can't go unpunished. With rumors of Cobhs return, and with Salthill in the final of the A Championship, how would that work I wonder?

Initially it probably would but with the financial levelling of the playing field due to the recession and bad financial management by the likes of Bohs, Cork, Drogs etc which should lead to properly implemented salary caps the gap will decrease. Limerick people are generally success following whores and if the big boys are coming to town regularly then our attendances would increase, and the knock on effect would filter right through the club.
If if if .........
FAI will just pick and choose which clubs to punish as they usually do. Have to wait and see how the promotion and relegation play offs go before speculating I guess.
Expect more of the same thing again next year.
the 1 league would make our gates go up into the 1000s with the likes of rovers coming to town but we would need out of jackman but were could we go markets field looks like its never going to happen

Only problem is if it ever happened, Limerick would have to be getting good results very regularly or the people won't come to watch. As joesoap says Limerick people will only follow success. The pull the matches against the bigger irish teams would have, would wear off pretty fast if the results weren't following it.
An awful lot of ifs and buts so far in this speculation. Nothing to suggest that Cork will be censured given that they've gotten off without any punishment so far. Likewise I think that the Bohs house of cards will last another 12 months or so. I'd be surprised if there was any radical change from the current structure for next season tbh.
I think that the novelty of playing Bohs/Rovers/Cork/whoever would wear off fairly quickly in the city too and while our attendances would certainly improve I don't think that the long-term gain would be as pronounced as a lot of people seem to.
And the year after. And the year after that.

I predict the FAI will leave Cork and Bohs off as they won't want to lose them from the Premier and the League of Ireland will continue being a bad joke
lets take the game to-day, the kids that done mascot got soaked because there wasnt even a tent that they could go into while it rained for an hour and a half.
when i left the game and I was one of the last to leave there was a load of merchendise still for sale that they could have put on sale for the last few home games
hows that for bad planning
besides that it was a great day and very enjoyable
So your blaming the club for the weather and the fact that some people didnt buy some gear?
Kids get a slap of a towl when they go home and they learn a valuable lesson in the value of a good brolly. No Harm.

no not blaming them for the weather but if they planned it better they could have put either a tent there for the kids instead of letting them stand in the cold and wet for an hour and a half or they could have given them the gear a few days before and let them come down changed 15 minutes before the game, how about that, would that have not been a better plan
also they should have sold the gear before the game, is gone now, finished, people wont buy them, were if you had them on sale at the last 2 home games people would have bought them, thats what other clubs do after all its to 1) make a bit of money and 2) to shift all the stock if possible
but as Ive said already besides those 2 issues, it was a great day, I enjoyed the game and enjoyed the day, i hope more people that were there for the game come out and support Limerick Fc next season,
This was Limerick's first venture into something like this and they'll learn from there mistakes.Lots of credit to them for makin a good effort and hope to see more of the same in future.

As far as I know, this Liverpool game was only 100% official to Limerick about 2-3 weeks ago. I think Pat O' Sullivan said that at the dinner in the Strand on Sunday.
In fairness, I don't think they were given enough time to have merchendise ready for the home games before Sunday. And it wouldn't make sense to have it on sale before the Liverpool game anyways.
