How Many Clubs in Ireland?

Hi.
A quick question. Doing a bit of research at the moment for a college project, would anyone have an idea of how many football clubs there is in ireland, from the small teams playing in local leagues up to the Eircom league. Even a rough idea would be useful

If vyou have Championship manager you will be able to check if you go to the non-league irish teams and add the 22 eircom league teams and you will have aproximately all irish teams

I don't have Championship manager so can't do that. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Anyone else have any idea's? Even a rough figure would do.

e-mail the FAI. They may be useless but they should be able to tell you that much at least!

Anyone got their Italia '90 sticker album handy? It gives total of registered clubs in the country. Bit out of date now - think it was around 700 in 1990??

It'd be well over 700 now. closer to 1000.

Ring the FAI or maybe the four provincial associations (you'd have to ring the FAi to get their numbers anyway). Let us know how you get on.

Loads more and i mean loads more non-league clubs in Ireland then what is on Championship manager. What about all of the junior clubs, the smallest league in Ireland (AFAIK) The West Cork League has 32 teams!!!
