    JP offer not for Lansdowne

    The £50 million Irish pounds offered by racing millionaire J.P McManus for the proposed new National Stadium would not be available for the redevelopment of Lansdowne Road according to Sports Minister John O’Donoghue.

    Mr O’Donoghue was speaking in the Dail on Wednesday afternoon and he told members that McManus’ offer was now retracted since the National Stadium project was abolished.

    I doubt he ever would have coughed up the cash anyway. Its not as if he ain't saving enough thru zero tax policy on stud fees to pay for it either.
