Good man Noby. Hope you particularly enjoy my 'answer song' to your last collective, track 5 or thereabouts.

Great mix Hoop, really sorted myself a few friends out yesterday morning after an all nighter, which is about the best compliment I can give any CD really

I'll post a fuller review after a few more listens

    I'm up next right?

Ha, nice one. If it passed that impatient test there's no telling what it could achieve. I'll send it to the Pope to see if we can get it played at churches so that ye're experience can be replicated across this dark world of sin. Well, who knows eh.

May as well throw up the playlist to preserve for posterity:

Noby, been listening to yours a good bit again this past week. Loads of quality, especially the latter half which is right up my alley. One track is really standing out though - "Snake In The Grass". Just wondering did you get it off a Trojan compilation or where? Harvesting a musical field of similar grain would reap me significant pleasure. Jeez, I hope that last sentence didn't sound too corny..... oh dear.

KH, yeah it's from the Trojan Suedehead box set. Any of those Trojan box sets are great - Suedehead, Skinhead Reggae and Rocksteady are particular favourites of mine.

Haven't listened to your cd yet, been up the walls again. As soon as I sort out music at work I'll be back on track.

Great mix indeed Hoop, very nice! Very rhythmy, and for that matter beaty. Been a constant soundtrack to my travels these last few days.
Such a high level maintained across the disc (just the single dip for me, the Checkmates one, didn't get it, sorry!) that there aren't as many stand-out tracks, but have to especially commend your selection of the Bole 2 Harlem tune, and the excellent I Like It Like That, which I'm appalled to say is the only one I knew before!
The other two real highlights are two bands I'm definitely off to check out. Roudoudou, at least on that tune, sound like Lemon Jelly were never away, which is A VERY GOOD thing, specially as the latter band are not the most prolific.
And top of the pile, the glorious Dubbing Psycho Thriller, tune! Lee Scratch Perry is a mad legend.
Remember reading lots about this lot, Adrian Sherwood, On-U Sound System, Tackhead and the like in the Melody Maker of the time, but never got into them then. Hopefully it's not too late.

Your mix has been a constant round my house since I've got it KH, excellent stuff altogether and I've even had to burn off a copy each for two friends

Highlights for me would the Portico Quartet track, the always excellent Kila, Les Leopards, Roudoudou and the Checkmates but it's constantly great all the way through

I have my list done so will burn off the CDs tonight and have them posted out to you lot on Monday

It took me ages to get round to it but I finally gave Hope It Is.. a listen last night. Hadn't heard any of the tracks before (indeed Kila and Serge Gainsbourg were the only two artists that I had heard of! And I'd only recently heard of the latter when he was given a good write up in this quite excellent blog) but I enjoyed the mix immensely. Disco Groove, Zavadovski Island, Marilou Sous La Neige, Rap-O Clap-O, and I Like It Like That were the tracks that I liked the most, but there's so much going on in most of the songs it's probable that I'll be back after my second and third listens praising several other titles.

First time back in a while. Are we done ? I thought Jebus was to go? Don't know if he's around but loved all the CDs I received. What about a 4.0 ?!!
JERRY: But are you still master of your domain?
GEORGE: I am king of the county. You?
    JERRY: Lord of the manor.
