Has anyone been to an away game where their name was actually printed on the tickets?
I know they do this for CL and possibly WC tickets but for qualifiers?
Tell the truth - give his details and say he lives there. Put in lives locally or soemthing for flight details.
Presume you are staying with him too so don't have a hotel.
No point in lying when there is no need to. I've heard they do spot checks but never heard of anybody being checked.
Paddy Blogs bbing reference number XXX can get 2 tickets for every away game even if not going and can name Mick & Mary Murphy as the 2 ticketholders.

I wonder would everyone that applied have heard whether they were successfull or not by today? I haven't got any notification yet.
The FAI couldn't put name son tickets for an away game. It would be a logistical nightmare.
Anyway checking all the names v a passport would take 9 hours. The only occasion I eve rheard of checks was in Germany for 2006 where spotchecks were done. If stopped you had the choice of going to the next entrance and trying again or going back to a booth - paying 10 euro to get a re-issued ticket with your name on it.
I've never heard iof anybody missing a football match because the name on their passport didn't match the name on their ticket.
Applied and haven't received an email yet. Checked my spam filter and it's not there either. Then email the FAI but received a standard "Too busy to look at your email" reply. Ah well, time to hit the French ticket sites.
People have been speculating as to how many Irish fans will travel to the game. Apparently the FAI received applications for 17,000 tickets. I assume this means that they didn't actually receive that number of applications, but when the amount of requested tickets were added up from the applications submitted, that this is the figure that they came to. It would appear on that basis that there will be close on 20,000 travelling.
Well it always happens. I know we did it (I've never done it before and it was done accidentally. I actually emailed the FAI after we realised we had both applied and before the results of the allocation came out) and many others do it.
I'd agree with the 10k travelling assessment. 15k tops.
Read a few posts on the French ticket (a) thread and there are already a few spares popping or posters being able to sort other posters out with tix. Definitely double bookings have happened.
I reckon 10k support.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
