Absolutely disgraceful article by the Daily Mail. It didn't appear in the Irish version.. The Mail are getting an awful doing by the media over here, and rightly so. Appalling timing and I hope that columnist publishes an apology.
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
yea I read that earlier and thought it was something that Chris Morris would come up with as a parody
oh 7,000th post
To be honest though it isnt normal for a 33 year old to die of natural causes, and I certainly thought this when I first heard this news.
A bit of the old Joe Dolan me thinks
Vulgar enough alright. An amount of it isn't even to do with Gately. Just a mix of latent and blatant homophobia hinting that gay people just aren't cut out for monogamy or "normal" relationships and behaviour.
On the other hand she does make one salient point when she observes ..."Consider the way it has been largely reported, as if Gately had gently keeled over at the age of 90 in the grounds of the Bide-a-Wee rest home while hoeing the sweet pea patch." -There does appear to have been an amount of haste to point out nothing unusual or illicit contributed to the death of an apparently healthy 33 year old.
Anyway, autopsy apparently cited fluid on the lungs. Might he just have been partying too hard, conked out, puked in his sleep and didn't spew any? Happens. So does SADS and whatever else I know.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
And a parody of the Moir article here:

"There was no immediate response from the newspaper over the number of complaints but on Friday a spokesman for the newspaper said: “In the interest of free speech Mail Online is carrying comments both for and against her column but regrets the heavy-handed tactics by the campaign which is clearly being fanned by many people who haven’t even read Jan’s views.”"
Oh, the ironing!
