Moussa Sissoko V Glen Whelan
Thierry Henry V Aiden Mc Geady
Karim Benzema V Robbie Keane

As a guess!! The current line up. They have an average keeper and an average defence central midfield for them could be stonger there strenght is in attack and up front but no one pulling up trees at club level!! We can do this

Coleman for Ireland
Henry probably won't make it, even if he does he won't be back at 100%
Benzema is in poor form, doesn't like playing for France at the moment either
Clichy is also in poor form
You also seem to have forgotten Ribery, but he might not make it with injury anyway
I know that Ribery has been injured as he has a persistant knee injury!!
I got the line up from the last French match now from looking at the Man U website Evra was fit but not included in the squad and Gallas was on the bench!! Also Henry plays wide for france comming off the wing but its not as bad as Portugal (Deco Ronaldo and Nani etc) or a plastic pitch away in Russia
I have to say, this gives me renewed hope. Feeling more confident now.
France is like Belgium, talented players but there is no loyalty and no bond between players. Not racist in anyway but many players probably don't really care about playing for France(same with Belgium)
Bafetimbi Gomis looks savage for Lyon, A Drogba type player that they might play to contend with Dunne for set pieces....
france had nothing to play for in the last match against austria. bar injuries id expect their team to be
GK Loris
RB Sagna
CB Gallas
CB Abidal
LB Evra
RM Ribery
CM Lasanna Diarra
CM Gorcuff
LM Malouda
CF Henry
CF Benzema
a lot better than the team named above but still dodgy at set plays and will not enjoy playing with the burden of a nation demanding world cup qualification, fickle fans and an erratic manager.
If Henry and Ribery were out I'd feel a lot better about this....but I have a feeling they'll both recover in time.![]()
What kind of injuries does Ribery and Henry have?
Hugo Lloris V Shay Given
Julien Escude V John O Shea
Rod Fanni V Sean St Ledger
Sebastien Squillaci V Richard Dunne
Gael Clichy V Kevin Kilbane
Florent Malouda V Damian Duff
Alou Diarra V Keith Andrews
Moussa Sissoko V Glen Whelan
Thierry Henry V Aiden Mc Geady
Karim Benzema V Robbie Keane
Sidney Govou V Kevin Doyle
a draw then!
Ribery and Evra?
Ribery had tendonitis in his left knee but should be back for the play-offs.
I really don't rate Abidal at all. Don't know how he's at Barcelona.
Concern over Ribéry
Thursday brought less positive news of Franck Ribéry, Robben’s counterpart on the left flank. The France star is out of contention for an indefinite period, Van Gaal announced. “I’ve brought him on as a sub and I’ve started with him, but the injury’s always flared up again afterwards. We’ve agreed he needs to rid himself of the injury completely before we start working with him again,” the coach said.
Since the start of pre-season in July, Ribéry has been troubled by a persistent and painful inflammation affecting a tendon attached to the left kneecap. After a first attempt at a comeback as a substitute against Werder Bremen on Matchday 2, the Frenchman sat out the following week’s trip to Mainz, before another substitute appearance in the 3-0 victory over Wolfsburg. Ribéry started the most recent match at home to Köln, but had to come off at the interval.
“Franck also needs to build up his physique. The muscles in his injured leg are less well developed than those in the good one,” explained Van Gaal, “and that’s not good. It means the physical demands on his body are unbalanced. It’s very hard to work with tendon problems.” The medical unit would now need to devise the right blend of treatment and sports rehab exercise, the coach summarised.
