The only time in recent memory that FranceBillet or TicketNet have refused to sell tickets overseas was for the match against Germany 3 or 4 years ago due to hooligan concerns. Don't think the same worries applies too us. I got a pair of tickets for the match in 2004 through FranceBillet no problems.

Also, there was over 30,000 Irish supporters in the Stade de France that night. Not just in the Sud Tribune, but dotted all over the rest of the ground, and it still wasn't a sell out. In fact France matches rarely are. I've been to several French internationals at the Stade de France and the only time it was a full house was when the played Italy in the Euro 2008 qualifiers. But that was 3 months after they met in the World Cup Final.

As mentioned by ptegan above, you can always buy tickets through FNAC, then collect them when you arrive in Paris.

One of the lads who's not on the FAI's system (normally gets ticket through my allocation) got the following response to his application for away leg tickets (made everyone I know apply for this one):

"For ticketing information for the home/away legs of the Play-Off on November 14th & 18th versus France please keep an eye on www.fai.ie for updated information

    Regards,

    Ticket Office"

Anyone else receive this response or any other response yet? Hoping that because I didn't get the same it means my application is going to be ok.

Think he's just looking for the thread title to be changed. In fairness this one should probably be merged with the other thread about applying for away tickets as seems to be quite a bit of repetition.

YA it was, basically i meant the title should change to "French FA tickets on sale" so that anyone browsing (on slow internet like myself for example) could spot it straight away.

I think this thread should be kept seperate as this is about froggie tickets as oppossed to fai tickets.

i'd like to reiterate my earlier point, and emphasise that people should not be buying tickets from the french FA unless we've sold out our own allocation.

I doubt we'll have more than 8,000 travelling to this mid-week, so it would make sense to have all our supporters compacted together so we can create the most noise?

if there's a strong indication that we'll get more than 8,000 going, i'm happy to collect tickets for people from FNAC, or have people's tickets delivered to my/ my work address.

magnum i remember before people getting carried away with stuttgart saying that there were going to be between 12 and 15k or something like that and in the end it was more like 6 or 7k if even, however this match is a lot bigger and there are an awful lot of irish living in london(and from continental Europe) now who will travel to this that normally wouldn't travel to away games. I personally know of around 10 lads going for either just the day or over tuesday evening who never go to games. Im just one wee soul, im sure there are plenty more

Having said that id say we will do well to have used up our full allocation. IF we have 10k there i would be very very suprised.

Agree with this. 8,000 official allocation. Delaney I am sure could secure a few thousand more if they think we will need them based on applications to date (Stade France doesnt sell out and prob wont for this game). Get an Irish End ticket!! IF you dont manage to source one - you will still be able to get a French FA one nearer the time.

Are you sure of your numbers for Stuttgart from memory id say at least 15k and possibly as many as 20k at the game, we were in a German secton near to the official irish secttion and the irish outnumbered the Germans 2 to 1 in this area.

I wouldn't be so sure that it will be easy to pick up French end tickets close to the game. Although the French are poor travellers they do show up for home games particularly with qualification at stake.

I think those bbers that regularly travel away will be OK. I think block bookers will most likely be OK. However I don't think tickets will be on public sale for our end unless we get more than the 8,000 minimum.

I assume the cheapest tickets are €20 and that isn't too bad for peace of mind.
If you do get seats in the Irish end you must likely won't be stuck with the French tickets.

Why not buy up French end tickets, I remember the game in Stuttgart when loads of Germans were looking for tickets before kick off and Irish supporters had spares going into the game

The less French support the better

hey, if you've got the spare cash / want the piece of mind of definitely having a ticket, then go for it. but my thinking was that i don't think more than 8,000 will travel (mid-week/recession), so try and keep everyone together. (ie. in the FAI allocation).

if we get more, great, and i'd be up for buying french tickets and giving them to any neutrals over french. just mindful of not diluting our support is all.

If we do bon or tres bon in the first leg, there will be a huge push for the
18th but before then it's hard to know
