Better second-half performance from Wexford and a poor Limerick one meant that Wexford deserved to take the three points tonight. With Sinny and Patsy missing, Wexford started with Vickers, Kenny, Dempsey and Fitzgerald in midfield and Gary and Jimmy up front. Half-way through the first half, Jimmy switched back to wide right and Vickers went up front. With such a young side, Wexford played very direct in the first half and created two chances for Gary one of which resulted in a good save from the keeper. Limerick kept it more on the ground but Wexford's usual funnelling back meant that Packie had only routine saves to make.
