    Jamie O'Hara

Maybe one or two even playing in the play-offs. Big shock this. Just listened to the interview. here is a snippet

"We have widened the squad and we still need new blood. We look for father, grandfathers, mothers. Perhaps there are other players out there who will qualify to play for us. We need to find new blood," said Trap.

"We know Jamie O'Hara and Kyle Naughton, for instance, qualify to play for Ireland," added Trap, who will also send Marco Tardelli to watch Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan. "We look where we have to and maybe we will find some new players."

I took these quotes from the back of this evenings Herald. But he made the comments in an open interview with Sky/BBC and I'm sure RTE would have been there. Will load it as soon as I can. Here is the entire article

I'm not sure he ever turned us down as much as he did'nt qualify under the old rules. And Trap has proven he is prepared to throw players straight into battle. So who knows what the team will be come Nov 14th. O'Hara might well get a look in.

i dont want any of these type players. if your not interested from the start then stay away. personally i wouldnt even entertain the idea if i was manager. i would have a real problem with these pulling on the green shirt.

Hope this doesn't overshadow the build up to play-offs. Don't need any distractions.

I wouldn't have a problem with these lads playing, if they turn up and give 100% and improve the team, we need all the help we can!!
Even the top nations are bringing in players like this anymore.
Spain/Senna, Germany/Cacua, Croatia/Eduardo... There is probably more Im forgetting!

I don't want to qualify that badly that I'm willing to let in a bunch of English players with borderline ancestry, just because the rules have changed. It simply cheapens the notion of international football.

I take it so you were absolutely horrified by the sight of Andy Townsend and Kevin Sheedy in the green Duggie???

I would still rather have 90% of the team Irish than the squad of USA 1994 where 6 of them were born in Ireland

It would be a big risk to throw a new player in into such an important game. I think the above names might be to throw off the scent, maybe there's one or two others that we don't know about, who might be eligible but Trap doesn't want to publicise it.

    yes please.

O'Hara definatly, we badly need a new left full and id have him straight into the side ahead of Kilbane at the minute.

Naughtan shows plenty of potential and could be a good addition also, even if he stays at his current level he is betetr than some of the others we have, if as expected he gets better then its win win!

Nolan aswell, few years left in him, a talented player and id have no problem seeing him in the centre of our midfield.

I dont see the problem with any of this, if they qualify and are better than whats there already and WANT to play for us then why not!

The world isint the same place as it was 40 years ago!

    From Wikipedia.

Andy O'Brien has dual British-Irish citizenship, and despite representing England at under 18 and under 21 level,[9] he elected to represent the Republic of Ireland at under 21 and senior level.

Did you have the same opinion when he played for us?

OT - The article also says he was an 'integral' part of the '02 WC Squad?? Did he even play?

'Nolan for Ireland' has a Rasputin like durability.
