There is absolutely no way Burnley used BMI to decide whether to Treacy can return to training.
You'd have to imagine that the journalist, in this instance, has taken an over-simplified inference on the actual measurements that the, presumably, well-qualified Burnley fitness department actually utilised.
There is absolutely no way Burnley used BMI to decide whether to Treacy can return to training.
I expect they had pretty much decided he was not going to be part of their Premiership squad already,
obviously they will strengthen the squad and that means they will have to get rid of some players too.
signed for Barnsley: http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/art...4-1809598.aspx
Treacy is one of Barnsley's senior players, age wise. Hopefully, he plays like one and gets his act together!

His second chance at Burnley that was given to him during the summer is swept under the rug in that article. If being released left him "drained", then I'd have thought the second chance would have re-invigorated him. Odd for a professional footballer to be fearful of rushing his body back to play matches if he has indeed been training on his own since May i.e. for 3 months.
I must say I am impressed by his performance here.
I have always been shocked by the apparent inability of so called professional footballer to kick a ball, particularly take a decent corner.
I seem to remember I could score from a corner fairly easily in my school days, on my good foot anyway, the less said about he other one the better
Looking at some of the other players taking the same challenge you wonder how they ever managed to get a professional contract!!!

Released by Barnsley.
Signed for Drogheda United apparently?
You've got no fans.
From making your Ireland debut against Messi & co to signing for Drogheda...
He will bounce back
In fairness this guy had/has ability. We don't no for certain why he has not fulfilled his potential . Maybe he wasn't good enough. Maybe he couldn't cope with that sort of life.
It would be great to hear the views of the lad himself. You would imagine that he himself should have a better idea than most others as to why he didn't reach the level that so many thought he could.
I probably posted it earlier in this thread but I saw him live in 2009 or 2010 and a superb delivery aside, he didn't seem anything special. But he did have a great delivery.
Same as Beckham then.
Saw him play for Ireland and thought he had real ability. Shame. Although it's good for the league
Folding my way into the big money!!!
Good article on him in today's Indo. About being homesick and moving back to Ireland
Lazy git, he had the talent to play in the top division and become an Ireland regular. I always lumped him in with Alan Judge and considered Treacy to be the more exciting prospect. To be around the Ireland squad so often too........bah.
What a waste, as Ian Dury once sang. (Good for the League though....possibly...he sounds desperately unfit. Could he not leave the bloody golf for 5 years and make a go of his huge talent.......kids these days, I don't know)
Whatever floats his boat I suppose.
Keith Treacy: I'm a lot poorer but I'm a lot happier
