Wexford tried to keep the ball more in the second half and created two one-on-ones for Jimmy and Lee Aust who came on at half-time for Vickers. But both were under pressure and neither could tuck them away. However, Limerick looked vulnerable in the middle of the back four and the goal came when the two defenders let the long ball bounce once again leaving Gary to lift it over the keeper and head it home. Second came about ten minutes later, when Jimmy was pushed over in the box and Breener drilling the peno straight down the middle. In contrast, Limerick kept it long in the second but hardly created anything with Breener and Peter White keeping O'Flynn quiet for the whole game.
Along with Gary, Breener and White, thought Lee Aust had a useful second half playing wide left while Dempsey looked our most creative midfielder. About 500 there but lots of kids so paying attendance would have been much less.
