I have a very ropey mobile phone recording of the first bottle incident, if you stare at it long enough you can clearly make out a rovers fan in a monkey costume drinking half the coke out of a plastic bottle.Ill stick it up on youtube for you Sheridan honey x
You do realise Rovers fans refer to Bohs as a protestant club and refer to Bohs as "Orange bstards" in many of their anti-Bohs songs don't you?
I was in the Bohs stand and could certainly hear Rovers fans singing songs towards us to the same effect. Strange that I could hear it and yet you didn't, either that or you just chose to ignore it and focus on Bohs being sectarian. Obviously neither sectarianism or racism is acceptable but I find it very strange you chose to highlight as you say 10-12 Bohs fans calling the Rovers keeper "a dirty orange basterd" and yet didn't mention 3-4,000 Rovers fans singing towards our end calling us Orange...
Have the FAI or Shamrock Rovers come out with a statement yet condemning the monkey chants?
oh the irony.
Dont kid yourself LeeJo - this will never be heard of in the public domain. It will die a death on here pretty soon too as pretty much NOBODY has condemned it or even referenced it very much except for ourselves. Compare to the 7-8 page thread on McGuinness v. Boco. The double standards and hypocrisy of this forum is sickening. And dont get me started on the FAI, SARI and the others who made such a song and dance about the McGuiness incident a few months ago.

Why would they make a statement? The actions of a few scumbags doesnt warrant press inches and im sure the FAI and Rovers are keen to portray the league in the best light posisble.
If every club were to issue statement on what a small few and by small i mean ridiculously small, (there were 6k people there remember) we'd be reading ****e about the league every other week, it gets enough bad press as it is!
I take no pleasure in stating that the Bohs fans are coming across as very bitter in all this, i cant imagine this much would have been made of it had they won the game or even scored the penalty to take a point.
It just seems like they are more keen on the self gratification which will be brought by some bad publicity coming Rovers way for once!
There was as many singing sectarian songs as there were making racist taunts, it happened, its condemned by both sets of proper fans, end of!
Dont give this morons a platforn by making more of it than needs to be!
You must be joking, rovers board (complete with hollifan) or the FAI are never likely to admit the poster boys did anything wrong. sweep ot under the carpet.
where else in football could a lino be hit with a bottle and not even a mention anywhere ?
Racism, sectarianism, illegal flares and missile throwing - the Tallaght experience !
not at all. Incidents like this are always highlighted irrespective of the result.
And its about being treated equally. Our club has had its name dragged through the mud for one player making a racist remark in the heat of a game. Absolutely not acceptable and he was punished. But our whole club (from the top down) paid the price and it was splashed all over the news.
Now, somewhere between 10-50 Rovers yobs racially abuse a player during a game, audible on live TV and there hasnt been a single mention of it.
Does this make sense to you? Is this equal treatment? Is it really just bitterness? Im sorry but you and everyone else who was so quick to condemn McGuiness are guilty of applying different standards of offense to similarly reprehensible acts and that is disgraceful.

It is nothing to do with the result, we beat you 2-0, earlier on in the season. At the time people on here said it about the racist song rovers fans were singing. "it will be dealt with" said the rovers fans it wasn't was it? Now here you are a Rovers fan, asking everyone to turn a blind eye again!![]()

Go have at SKStu's post on the last page will you? Hear no Evil...
Rovers fans were comparing Joesph N'do to a monkey, and all you can say is "every club has idiots." Pathetic. How many other clubs idiots have made monkey noises at a black player?
Let's not forget this isn't the first time that this has happened with Rovers, it happened in the first league game this season where Rovers fans sung a song to N'do about his father washing elephants, and before that in the first Bohs-Rovers derby last season in Tolka Park there was monkey noises aimed at Mansaram as was highlighted at the time, but sure it's all in good fun eh? Nothing to see here lads move along...
