Kildare make transfer swoop
First Division side Kildare County have further bolstered their squad for the coming eircom League season by signing defender Philip Byrne from Shelbourne and midfielder - and Kildare native - Shane Harte from non-league football in Dublin.
Byrne, a son of the former St Patrick’s Athletic and Shels player Damien, played for Shels’ under-21 side last season, but has struggled to make it even to the fringes of Pat Fenlon’s first team squad at Tolka Park.
